We had some time to kill last night between dinner and a movie, so we decided to go to Buy Buy Baby for the first time. Holy crap, it was so overwhelming! So many options... How do you even start narrowing down what you need/want?

Look at friend's registries and other sites of most recommended items. Always register with a plan or idea of what you want in each category, much easier.

I read Baby Bargains before registered and it was very helpful!

I used a list as a guideline and then researched online before deciding.

If you get stressed out when you're at BBB, go play with the 4Moms Origami stroller they have on display...trust me, it's soothing and your DH will perk right up.

I often feel this way when I go into BRU (we don't have a BBB, but from pics, I think it's a similar concept). I did ALL of my registry and researching online from the comfort of my own home! I'd constantly forget my main objective and purpose when going into BRU unless I researched what I wanted to see, made a list, and went specifically with something(s) in mind. If I ever saw some little things here & there I thought of adding to the registry, I just snapped a pic on my phone of the product, went home to research, and decided whether or not to add it on the registry online.

We had the same reaction on our first trip to BBB! We did one circle of the store, mouths open, and left. I agree: lots of research at home from the comfort of the couch, consult friends' registries (and actually, Amazon has some "top registries" to look at too), Lucie's List, and other guides help narrow it down a lot. It gets less overwhelming every time!

@tororojo: omg, we totally played with the origami stroller yesterday! We were so amazed that I even had to take a video of DH playing with it! Seriously have never seen anything like that... does anyone in HB actually own one?

@sweetchic: we play with it every time! There is a thread on it somewhere if you do a search; not sure if anyone has it!

Luci's List is a great resource. I went with a girlfriend that is a Mom and that was so helpful. Otherwise it is so overwhelming to even start. I mean who knew there were so many bottles, nipples and pacificers to choose from!
