My LO isn't here yet, but my SIL swears by adding baking soda to the baby's bath along with using the diaper cream. Her doctor recommended it and it really helped my nephew.

Before we started using our cloth diapers I noticed DDs bottom was starting to get really red so I went ahead and switched to the cloth and started using Grovia magic stick on her bottom. Every now and then if it starts looking red again ill use the magic stick and it seems to knock out the redness and irritation in a day or so. It's nice bc its a stick also. Just rub it on and no messy fingers for you

if you're going to buy something, i love triple paste! it's a little more $$ than desitin, but it seems to clear things up much faster. also, you can try wiping with one of those cotton rounds you use for taking off nail polish/ removing eye make up with baby oil on it.

Aww your poor lo! My lo has diaper rash since she started teething. She's in cloth so she has special diaper rash cream. Our doctor said to just wipe with water and a soft cloth, no wipes. And make sure it's dry before diapering her, she even said we could use the hair dryer on low.

I've heard that triple paste works wonders. Personally I've been using coconut oil to prevent diaper rash, and so far so good. I just put a little bit on her bum after each diaper change. She smells like a tropical drink and NO diaper rash. Also, coconut oil is cloth-diaper friendly if you're planning on using cloth.
