Looking for outdoor furniture - dining table and chairs with umbrella. I'm drawn towards teak stuff but I feel like it would be hard to maintain. Do you have a set that you like?

We have teak chaise lounges with cushions on top. We keep them under a covered portion of our patio, but they are still exposed to sun and rain. The teak still looks great. We purchased a set of spray solutions to treat the teak and cushions, but so far haven't used them.

We got a teak table and chairs for our wedding and they haven't been hard to maintain. We usually put them in the garage or shed once it gets to be regularly freezing and I scrub everything down after getting it out of the shed with a vinegar solution. Had them for about 5 years and still looks good.

World Market has a beautiful set but for the second year in a row I missed it before it went out of stock. Not much help for right now, I guess, but if it's not an immediate need they'll probably have them again next year.

@Maysprout: do you cover the table and hairs when it rains? Where did you get it??
@littlek: the set I like is from pottery barn but it is $$$$

I love our set. We got our table from a nursery/floral place and the chairs and umbrella from a furniture shop. It was very expensive but it'll last us forever.
My favourite part is that there's a lazy susan built into the middle.

We actually got a great set from
Macys. Umbrella is from frontgate though.

I love teak, partly because that silvery gray effect is part of the look over the years!

It has cushions but we keep them in a storage cube when we aren't using them.
Then we have this sitting area

Home Depot, Hampton Bay Belleville- very durable, affordable, and looks great. I was super picky and shopped around for 6 months until I found it!
I love that it isn't glass, so with two crazy boys it won't shatter. I also like that I can change out the tiles if I'm feeling moody. The chairs that go with it are nice and super comfy too.

@winniebee: We don't cover it when it rains. But we do move it under cover for the winter. I can't remember the name of the place, it was some place that just did teak furniture though.
