We are planning to spend quite a bit of time in the yard this summer and I want to find an outdoor toy or two but she likely won't be waking until fall (1 in mid October). We will get a baby pool but that's obviously not helpful if I am trying to garden since she is still so young and we don't have a place for a swing.
Any suggestions?

What about a water table? She'd just need to be able to pull up to stand next to it.

There was really nothing he could do independently before he could walk, except maybe sit on a blanket and play with toys he likes.

Also there are outdoor players (small) that come with a baby swing built in.

@Mamasig: That's kind of what I was afraid of, maybe I should just designate a bunch of toys for the yard so they are more exciting.

I second the water table. My LO didn't walk until Halloween and she played with the water table all summer long.

Your LO sounds about the same as my LO last year. She was the youngest in her class at daycare so when they went outside they would let her play with a walker toy, put her in an exersaucer, or let her ride in the little tykes car or wagon and push her around the play yard.

@Chillybear: We have an extra exersaucer, maybe I will put that in our garage and pull it out as needed. It would be a good way to get a good chunk of time.

I vote for a water table as well. You can always switch it to a sand table for more versatility.
