My head is spinning from all the different kinds of winter gear available for toddlers here! This is the first time I had to think about this and goodness ... there's so many different combinations! I get it's cold here and babies sleep outside even in the winter, so I'm trying make sure my LO won't freeze. The day cares just give a general response and don't seem to think much of it since it's normal to them.
Here's what I've found so far, in case anyone else is in (or will be in) a similar situation. I'd love to hear from cold weather bees for what you all dress your babies or what you wore yourself as a kid.
1) snow overalls + fleece jumpsuit + long johns + maybe even clothes under? WTF, I would die of heat exhaustion wearing all that! So maybe just clothes under would be fine?
2) rain suit + fleece underneath + clothes for fall/spring?
3) then there's the plastic non-breathable rain suits vs. the breathable ones
4) Then there's a outer shell jacket that's wind & water proof + another jacket made out of fleece that's also w&w proof that goes underneath it + clothes for fall/spring
5) Then there's w&w proof mittens, hats that are just plain thin or thicker ones or ones that you combo like everything else.
6) Then there's undies/long johns that would seem way too warm to wear when you're inside under normal clothes.
I'm dizzy now. Am I missing something?
