I know that theoretically this is possible, but I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced this? I've never paid attention to my CM prior to giving birth, but I noticed some pretty dramatic changes and was just curious if that may be what's going on. LO is 7 months and we are still bf about six times/day.

Very well could be. Have you ever read taking charge of your fertility? I'm planning on brushing up on it here soon. We us NFP as our primary fertility guide. Hopefully I can master it after we have these babies so I don't get KU right away.

I know you can have AF without ovulating but am not sure it works the other way. Your body could be gearing up to ovulate or having all the signs of ovulation without actually doing it, which is why CM alone isn't a reliable sign that you're ovulating.
ETA: I must have misunderstood the question...I thought this was asking whether you could ovulate repeatedly without AF or ovulate and go for an extended time without AF.

You can ovulate before your period returns when BF. I am wondering if this happened to me. Haven't had AF return yet but had some noticeable discharge that I would have considered eggwhite if I was TTC.

@MapleMoose: what is "early"?I just wonder if I should be expecting AF to suddenly appear on our Mexico trip tomorrow, lol. Guess I should bring supplies, since my sister is pregnant and mom is menopausal so they won't be able to help me out!

@MapleMoose: DS is 5 months and we're nursing/pumping and I noticed egg white CM as well. Then last week, I was spotting and was super bloated so I thought AF was going to show up the next day, but nada. Spotting went away and AF still hasn't appeared.

I think it's possible for your body to gear up for ovulation and show signs like EWCM but then not actually make it to ovulation...which would result in no period.
