DH is making me this desk so I can set up a study area in our room. The desk will go between our bed and the wall, and I have a beautiful gray upholstered chair to go with it.

Now my plan was to paint it a glossy white, and display gold accessories... But now that the desk it nearly finished- I wonder if a glossy white would suit the desk, and perhaps I should do a dark stain instead? I feel like a glossy white desk needs minimalistic, clean lines, and this has a more intricate design.

I don't have to worry about matching other furniture in our room, we just have the upholstered bed and our night tables that we could paint or stain if we want to.

Thoughts??
