My baby is 15 days old, weighed in at 6lbs 9 oz at birth, and will probably wear size N for a while. We've gone through more than 100 diapers in the past 2 weeks. They say expect anywhere from 8-12 diapers a day for a while. But it will really depend on how big your baby is to begin with. A couple of friends have had large babies (9lbs or bigger) who only wore newborn sizing for a couple of weeks.

Lo was born 8 lbs 13 oz and was in newborn diapers for 2 weeks.

Little Jumper was born 7lbs 8oz, and was in NB diapers for at least the first four weeks. She was in size 1 until two months ago. She wears size 2 now.

LJ is 14lbs 8oz at 6.5 months.

I don't remember how long LO wore newborn size but I think it was until about 2 weeks when the cord stump fell off and we ran out and switched to size 1 (she was 8lb 0.07oz at birth). How many you go through in a day depends upon how much LO minds being wet. Our LO HATED being wet as a newbie and so we changed her at the first sign of wetness (usually based on the indicator line the swaddlers have).

Liv was 7lb 10oz and wore the Swaddlers newborns for like a month before she outgrew them. The 1s fit her, but they were really big until she was like 2 weeks old. The tabs overlapped

@Crumbs: I'd say double up on the packages and if you have too many, you can always donate them to the hospital or an organization that would be glad to have them. That's what we plan on doing with any diapers we don't use.
