My 7-week-old little boy will occasionally act like he has NEVER seen food before while he's eating. He'll breathe fast, get wide-eyed, and bat at the bottle, (even though he's simultaneously, rapidly sucking at it). This happens a few times per week...not each time, thank goodness. He eats 5oz at each feeding and eats every three-ish hours! Has anyone else ever seen this?

Sounds like he's excited to see the bottle! My DD acts like this when she sees her lovey. She starts breathing fast and starts batting at it. Could it be that he's just really really happy?

DS does this almost every morning. Sometimes it cracks me up. I know it happens because he is excited to see his bottle and eat.

@MrsRcCar: Isn't it funny? haha. I love it. Sometimes she's so excited that she starts shaking and shrieks. Must catch it on video one of these days!

DD used to do this when she saw my boob.... she would swat at it and everything. I think it's just a normal baby reaction

@banana: It is great! I would love to get a video, however I am normally alone in the morning, I need another set of hands to get a video. Perhaps when DH is off later this week we can get a picture.

ds is 7 weeks and this happens at every feeding for us so i hope its normal.
