Does anyone have a paragard? DH and I are leaning towards one and done (or possibly TTC in 2+ years but likely one and done) so I like that Paragard is good for 10+ years and it's non-hormonal.
Does anyone have any experiences?

I got mine inserted almost 2 months ago at about 8 weeks PP. I'm still not sure if I like it. I had heavy bleeding the first week and then something that seemed like a period last week even thought I'm EBF. I've also had random spotting. I'm giving it time though. I will not take HBC ever again, so this really needs to work. Other than that, insertion was totally painless and my husband doesn't feel anything.

I have had it about three months. Most days I have cramping and my periods have been two weeks long each. I am having it taken out next week. I wish it worked better for me, but I am just not happy with it.

@DillonLion: Ugh, sorry to hear it didn't work out for you. Can I be nosy and ask what you are going to use instead?

@lamariniere: probably go back on the pill. I didnt want to do hormones, but I never had side effects woth hormonal bc. And they never left me with daily cramps and two week long periods! I just went on a beach vacation and bled the entire time. Miserable.
Mirena has localized hormones as opposed to ingesting them...but I am turned off by IUDs now because of this experience so I wont be getting Mirena.

Wish there were better reviews here... I'm getting mine in next week and hoping for the best because I don't want to do anything hormonal before we ttc #2. My sister has had one for years and had no issue conceiving #3 after. She says her periods were heavier for awhile, but nothing unbearable and they've leveled off now. Here's hoping...!
ETA my doctor also said she has the paraguard and recommends it. She's in her mid-30s I think.

I'm so conflicted!
I need a long-term birth control (daily pill? ha! I'd forget my head if it weren't attached!) but I'd prefer non hormonal.
I'm hoping my dr has some advice tomorrow.

I had one pre baby and got another after having LO. It was SO much easier getting it after baby and I'm very happy with it. I still haven't gotten my period back, but before it only made my cycle a little heavier. I had bad experiences with hormonal birth control and it really messed up my cycle. I love that the paraguard is super effective but hormone free.
