I have been having issues with my screaming and lack of patience when it comes to parenting to my now 4.5 years old for the past year (or more!), and have been in denial on finding help while really really hating myself. So I've been looking for parenting support groups earlier and came across this free class on 6 Obstacles to peaceful positive parenting. I signed up with no expectations really, and yesterday I called in for it. And oh boy, maybe I've been under a rock, but it was so helpful and liberating! They sent out the recording and notes after the class, which will expire shortly (next Monday?), and I thought I'd share it here:

I used their technique yesterday on "asking curious questions" instead of "barking orders" (eg. "What do you think we should do in order to get your room tidy before bedtime?" instead of "it is almost bedtime clean up your room now ") on everything I can do and OMG. DS basically listens and do what I need him to do 99.5% of the time. I don't know if it is just a good day yesterday or what's going on. I am actually very tempted on signing up for the 8 week class because that will be more useful to me than therapy.

I am in no way affiliated with this place, but I just thought I'd share because this is the most useful thing on parenting I've encountered for a while!
