B has been doing a great job with milestones and so far he is hitting milestones based on his actual age not adjusted age. However, I'm wondering, with big items like walking and crawling, have you seen a delay? B has been rocking back and forth and lunging but still no crawling. He turned 8 months 1/31. What do you think?

I'm not even close to there yet, but I believe there is a huge normal range for crawling. And some babies go straight from rocking to walking. I'd love to hear what the other preemie moms have to say.
On a related note, did you start solids at 6 months actual? That's what my OT said, but adjusted, he will only be 2 1/2 months!

My little guy was 6 weeks early and I feel like he is hitting milestones according to his actual age. His ped hasn't been concerned about anything. He started crawling at 9 months and immediately after started pulling himself up on furniture and cruising. At 11 months he could stand up without pulling himself up and was taking a few steps by the end of that month and then totally walking by 12.5 months.
I think he could be talking more, but he babbles a lot and there are the recognizable "mama" and "dada" but not always directed at us. Like MGG said, I think there is a range. My cousin's kid was full term and didn't talk until 2. A mommy-group friend had a crawler at 5 months. Hubs allegedly walked at 10 months. If your ped isn't concerned, I wouldn't be either.
and @Mrs Green Grass: My ped said that she is okay starting solids at 5 months, but wanted us to wait until 6 since he was early. I also considered waiting to introduce whole milk until his due date, but ended up doing it at 1 year bc we were running out of formula and we had no problems. I would think solids at 2 1/2 months it would be hard to feed him bc he can't sit up. I would wait until he is can sit-ish (or do well in a bumbo type chair) until you start solids. -
Olive started belly crawling at 8 months and didn't real crawl until 12 months. She started pulling herself up to stand at 10 months, and I don't think she'll walk until at least 18 months.
She could be behind in physical milestones because she was born 5 weeks early, but I think a lot of it has to do with her temperament as well. She is extremely cautious!

@Mrs Green Grass: We started solid at about 6.5 months. Most of the delay was because I was traveling for work, otherwise we would have started at 6 months. I think the most important thing for starting solids is that your LO can sit up well and unassited (because we put him in high chair).
The pediatrician thinks he is doing great and is not worried about his development. I was just curious about major milestones since he was early.

I always say go by adjusted age. If they do things before that, you can just say that your little one is a baby genius!
