That was very nice of you! We will be mowing our neighbors lawn for him this summer, free of charge...if that counts? He has a bad back so we want to help him out!

I participated in the 26 acts of kindness movement after the Newtown shooting. It is amazing how random acts of kindness/paying it forward make YOU feel good.

E was maybe 5 weeks old the first time we took him to dinner with us alone. We ate dinner on the back deck of a local bar and grille. Sitting not too far from us was a couple with a 7 month old girl. Her mother and I kept sneaking glances at each other's baby, lol.

Anyway, they left before we did, and stopped by our table on their way out. Small talk about the kids names and ages, etc. and then they left. A bit later we asked for our check and were told by the waitress that the couple had paid for our dinner, and to tell us that they remembered how overwhelming the first few weeks are and how exciting it was the first time they took the baby out to dinner.

It took us several months but we eventually found ourselves in a similar position...sneaking glances at a young couple with a newborn out to eat. The mother looked so stressed out every time the baby cried out. We stopped and said hello and oogled their baby on our way out, and then paid their bill before we left.

@FutureMrsMcK: Awe that is so nice, what a kind thing to do for a mama. I might have to do that if I have opportunity:)
