@LindsayInNY: oh noo.. .they don't take payment immediately. You can specify when you want to pay, a specific date or just when it's due. Most my cards take payment on the due date, I think only 1 takes the 2 or 3 days before the due date.

@PurplePumps: The electric company's auto-pay page said they deduct payment 10 days after the bill is sent. Which is probably a week or two before the actual due date? I know it's minor but still annoys me. Our mortgage gave me the option of due date, 7 days after or something like 14 days after. Not sure why you would pay after but whatever!

We don't have a credit card anymore. We paid it off and did away with it. So I wouldn't!
BUT my sister and her DH pay most of their expenses by credit card and pay the card off every month. I could see doing it that way. We are just too skittish about getting a credit card and possibly misusing it!

We put almost everything on one card for miles. The only bills we can't pay with credit card are electric, mortgage and car payment. We pay the bill in full every month so its just a way to accumulate lots of miles quickly. If you can pay it off every month, I say go for it!

@LindsayInNY: 10 days after? Bleh, yeah, that would rub me a little wrong too, but not enough to deter me from the convenience of auto pay. haha, I saw that on the mortgage too. They have a grace period of like 3-5 days I think before they start to charge you extra for paying 'late'. I never understood that too. I'd understand if someone needed that grace period once in a while, but I don't know why anyone would want to regularly pay late.

@PurplePumps: I think I need to figure out which bills can be paid with no fee by credit card and make the shift with those first... I'm going to be dreaming of cash back now!

I do this for places that won't charge me a fee for doing it, and immediately pay my credit card from my online banking. We have a travel rewards card. I never use the CC unless I'm paying it the same day for what I used.

I put pretty much everything on my CC unless they don't accept them or there's a fee, and pay it off every month. The points add up fast!

Yep, we do it for the points. We just pay off the card each month.
