We've been out and about a couple times this week when other kids have been around and I noticed a lot of times there's not a whole lot of kissing and snuggles with parents and babies, just more matter of fact interaction like 'OK time to crawl'. I kiss and cuddle and giggle with baby a lot whether people are around or not, though once in awhile there's a little tinge of self-consciousness of 'do others think this is weird', it's not constant baby talk or anything but I will kiss her head while someone else is talking or if we're just walking around a store we interact a lot. I don't have the same level of PDA reservation with my husband that others do so I was then thinking maybe some people have reservations about any public display of affection whether it's baby or husband or kid or whoever.
