How old was your LO when they could pedal a tricycle or bike? My oldest is almost four and mastering her bike (with training wheels). She sometimes has the pedals just where it's hard for her to get going.

We bought a bike with training wheels for my DS's third birthday. However, it was super heavy. He could pedal it, but it was really hard and took a lot of effort. We upgraded him to a bigger but much lighter bike (no training wheels) at 4 and he learned to ride it very quickly and could pedal it with no problems. I think bike weight plays a huge role in how easily the child can pedal.

I think it was around the age of 3, tricycle, the old fashioned kind.
Now he does "wheelies" on his regular bike, with training wheels of course...he's not ready to get them off.

B is 2.5 and has pretty much got the hang of pedalling his tricycle, although he prefers to push it with his feet because he can go faster.
