the pedipeds I've bought are true to size but I would go with the harder sole ( I don't know how your seasons run) but I'm already thinking of changing weather and harder soles are better for weather patterns

If she doesn't walk yet, get her the soft soles. They will be much easier for her to learn in. I also realized with DS when he was beginning to walk that we just carried him still, especially in inclement weather.

As for the sizing, is she standing on the paper, or did you just hold her foot up to the paper?

@MrsBrewer: Pedipeds originals are hands down my favorite beginner walker shoes, and I bought them all (Robeez, SeeKaiRun smallers, Livie and Lucas, Stride Rite, etc). I think you'll be fine with the 18-24. My big 1 year old (big feet and 24 lbs) has been walking since 10.5 months and is still just barely fitting in the 12-18, so I'm going to get her some 18-24 months next. She also has Stride Rites (the softmotion type) and See Kai Runs, but the harder sole Stride Rites are harder for her to walk in, and the See Kai runs get a wet sole if there's any moisture in the ground. The Pedipeds Originals are soft and flexible but with a rubber sole, so they are the perfect middle ground for us so far.
