We live near the ocean and our street actually has some springs up the street. We have a perimeter drain that drains water from the perimeter of the house and a sump pump that pumps excess water into the sewer. Our basement is dry and does not smell at all.
The issue is that the sump pump is running ALL the time lately because of snow melting. We live in Maine so I assume it will be going off all the time. It's an older sump pump, so you can hear it ringing when you are on the ground floor.
My question is if you have a perimeter drain and sump pump, can you hear the sump pump? What type of pump do you have? We've lived here 2.5 weeks and since I WAH it's driving me a little crazy already!
