My bleeding after A was born has seemed pretty normal. I wore heavy pads for a week or so, and then the flow was really light and decreasing each day. No big clots that I can remember. Suddenly, at 3 weeks, it's like I have my period. I have a midwife appointment on Tuesday, but I thought I'd see if anyone else had an experience with this. We planned on exclusively breastfeeding, but I've been having a lot of supply issues. I'm supplementing at the breast with formula (through a little tube). I know some mamas get their period after baby starts sleeping through the night, but the very longest I've gone without pumping or breastfeeding has been 5 hours. (happened once). I don't think I'm over doing it, so the increase in bleeding is a bit concerning.

@Vegmama: I was going to suggest overdoing it but since you say you are not, then I'm not sure. I do remember my bleeding letting up for a good 4-6 days and then starting but it only lasted a few more days then stopped until 4/5 months PP. I would for sure ask when you go to your appt though!

Sometimes you can overdo it even without realizing it. I had a similar thing where it was gone for a couple days and then came back right before my check up with the midwife. It definitely wasn't my period because that didn't come back until nearly a year postpartum.

That happened to me too and then my bleeding tapered off around 5 weeks.

My bleeding lasted for about 5weeks so maybe it's still post partum bleeding...

I got my period at 4 & 3 weeks PP. My cycles were regular after that. I was nursing and pumping around the clock both times.

I bled on and off for like 8-10 weeks I think. I can't remember exactly but I remember at 6 weeks my dr said some people don't really stop for up to 12 weeks or so!

My pp bleeding stopped at 5w and started up again for another week at 6w..
