Hellobee Boards

I'd really like some advice on this one too. Our Lab mix hates our 4-month-old LO's jumperoo. She gets in her face and barks at her when she jumps in it. We have to watch her very closely. Otherwise, she pretty much just looks at her and
occasionally licks her. The licking worried us at first but we read that it's a sign of affection and submission. Meanwhile, i'm thinking of spending tons of money on getting a behaviorist to come visit us. We followed the advice when we brought LO home, bringing in the hospital blanket first and then formally introducing them. But this barking while in the jumperoo really worries me. Otherwise, our little lab mix is pretty depressed. We take her out to run her, but she's still not used to NOT being number 1.

Following as well. We have two kittens (6mo and 4mo) and a baby due on Sunday. I am concerned about the co-sleeping situation. When we only had the first kitten, he was a complete maniac at night, but now that he has a friend he is way less intrusive. They generally leave us alone when we are going to sleep, then nap in the bathroom (?!!) for a few hours and finally jump on the bed and sleep by our feet for the last hour or two of the morning.

We have decided to take a wait-and-see approach with them. They are really social cats and like to be around us (at least, they constantly follow us around when we are home), so I would be sad to kick them out of the bedroom. I have heard that many cats avoid babies anyway, so if they leave him alone then I think we will be ok.

ETA: We will definitely not leave them together unsupervised for a LONG time. And when the baby is napping/sleeping in his room then we will just shut the door and keep the cats out. But I think the baby is going to room in with us for awhile; hence the question about whether or not to admit the cats.

We have an 8 year old lab and she's kind of indifferent, though she likes when he feeds her now. As an infant, she was very indifferent, but she's never showed any sort of aggression. She does seem to get upset if he's upset, though.

I'm pretty sure she'd love it if he'd just leave her alone. Unfortunately, he's obsessed with her.

@MrsMed: Our dog is the same way. He is a jealous dog, so I will forever be worried. We never leave them alone together. Thankfully, for the most part, the dog ignores E.

LO isn't born yet, but I think it will be okay. The only thing is my dog loves to have lots of attention, so he's going to have to get used to having less.
