DH and I agree on one color blue...our bedroom is Benjamin Moore Woodlawn Blue (first pic, circle). We are repainting the guest room from a neutral cream to a color. I like green or blue. We plan on adding a chair rail. I'd like to just use a lighter shade of the picked color above the rail. The guest room *may* be the nursery or child's room at some point.
Which color do you like best? Do you like chair rails?

I would like the bottom color but a little less bright, maybe a touch more grey in it? That way it's a little but more neutral for when you eventually make it a nursery 
And I love chair rails, I think they look really cute!

@honeybear: The house is the open concept new cobstruction cookie cutter house. We have crown molding throughtout and have decorated it with transitional furniture. The guest bedroom furniture is dark wood, traditional with a sleigh bed. We have to upgrade the window treatnent in that room and we ate leaning toward plantation shutters to match the other two bedrooms.

Still prefer the blue. That particular green is a little too yellow for my personal taste.

I don't know that I've seen a chair rail in a bedroom. I usually think of a dining room when I hear chair rail.

@MUI831: here's the inspiration nursery that had DH thinking about using the room as the nursery. What do you think now? I am not 100% sold on the chair rail if it just stays a guest room. As a child's room, though, adding chalkboard paint would be neat.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I feel like chair rails look best when they are in houses that lean Victorian or colonial in style, you know? That way they make sense with the overall architecture, and not just the furniture.

Plus I can always do something like this for chalkboard paint or just paint b one wall eventually.

I used Woodlawn Blue in my hall bath, I love that color!
I think the wainscoting/chair rail is a big trend right now, used in rooms where it's not normally expected. So if you love it, I'd do it!
I'd steer clear of chalkboard paint on a wall though, it's very dusty and I don't know how easily it can be painted over...I assume you need a primer?
