Anyone do the "pick up/ put down" method of gentle sleep training (basically pick up if she's fussing, put down when she is soothed but still awake, repeat.

I would really love for C to go down drowsy but awake (which, duh, don't we all?) I watched a sleep webinair today and they said that's pretty much the only "sleep training" to do this young (3 months).

If you did this, how long did it take? Did baby get worked up before calming down? Was the first night terrible but got easier quickly?

Lately every time I transfer sleeping C to the crib she wakes up and takes another 30 minutes to go down. It's maddening.

On the plus side she napped like a dream today so I have a lot more patience today.
