I'm going to be starting on C's big girl room here in the next few months, so I've started scoping out bedding.
What are some good places to find nice, affordable bedding? Everything I'm seeing that I like is way too expensive! I've found a few things I like from PB and Serena and Lily and other places, but I don't want to spend that much!
I want a fun, bright color. No licensed characters. Nothing TOO "babyish" and less than $200 for the whole set.
Suggestions?

I am thinking about trying this one , it is from Walmart but in my opinion small children don't need designer bedding.

What about ikea? Their sheets are inexpensive and usually have lots of fun prints!

@zippylef: Those are both pretty! I think the target has more bright colors if that's what you're looking for. And less white.... I'd be scared to get LO white bedding.

@artbee: Im just having trouble because I don't want her room to be a pink explosion! Im trying to decide between a garden-y green, pink and blue kind of thing or a navy/pink nautical. I think the navy might be a little too grown up for a little kid.

She has a white iron bedframe that was mine, it's got leaves and vines on it. I'm definitely open to it not staying white!

@zippylef: You can easily make a room with that comforter NOT be a pink explosion. In fact that can be the only touch of pink in the room and you can focus on other colors- I'd use the blue that's in there and green.
I think navy would be cute for a little girl's room.... but I also think it'll be harder to find things for it.

@zippylef: LOVE that last picture. It looks very mix and match. There are dotted sheet sets at land of nod (hint: if you create a baby registry, you can use the 10% code!) and I feel a duvet or quilt like that would be easy to find. let me see what I can find!

I would wander through TJ Maxx!! The one near my parents has AMAZING bedding sets.
I like your last inspiration pic...but then again, I'm a sucker for anything paisley. I think the iron bedframe looks cute painted the coral color.

What about PBTeen? If you search on Ebay they often have new duvets for way cheaper (people buy them from the outlet and resell).

@Mrs. Pen: I looked at the source blog for that last picture (which is actually my favorite too!) and the bedding is from PB Teen. They have the sheets still, but not the comforter.

@zippylef: oh had a thought. You're really crafty aren't you? Can you sew? I've heard duvet covers are insanely easy to make!
In addition I've made rag quilts before (the one posted above) and it's the easiest style quilt to make. It's just tons of squares sewn together then washed to get that "rag" effect.

@Mrs. Pen: I've thought about making her bedding but I decided I'm really just too lazy. haha. We're doing her room in addition to several other large renovations on the house at the same time, hoping to have everything done before we moved in next spring. I really think that paisley set from PBTeen might be my top contender.

@zippylef: We got ours from Overstock. They had a lot of options at good prices. They quality isn't as good as PB but for a kids room where they have shoes and drinks and stuff I wasn't too worried about it. I got two twin sets for $80.

@zippylef: I like it. And if you go with the pink, you can tone it down with contrasting sheets, throw pillows or throw blanket.
I also love in the picture how the whole bed set is pink, but the art is more blue/green - it's definitely a girl room but really not overkill at all. I love it.
On another note: is C already ready to transition to a twin bed?!

@Mrs. Pen: We're going to transition her in May/June of next year, so she'll be just over 2. We're not moving in to our house until DH gets back from England and she'll still be in a crib while we're with my parents until then. I just wanted her room as done as possible when we move in, so it'll be an easy transition.
I was wanting to do aqua blue walls and maybe paint clouds.
