I generally avoid taking DD to the mall, like the plague, ever since she stopped sitting in a stroller. She runs around like a wild animal there but I really needed to get stuff for an upcoming trip so we went. Omg, do not go into Sephora with your toddler who has free reign. Everything looks like paint and colored pencils!!! I managed to get some stuff but couldn't make it out of there fast enough, LOL. Is there anywhere you can't go with your LO nowadays?

I can't take my daughter to the library. She wants down if I carry her which would mean every book is thrown off the shelf and it is difficult for me to look at books plus carry my stuff and her. I can't use the stroller either because the aisles are so narrow that the shelves are within arms reach no matter where I park her.

Movies of course. My lo is too little and prob will til 4 or 5.

@MrsHotDog: oh, good one! I never thought about that. DD is usually OK at the library!
@mamabird: they don't have it around me but some places have theaters where you can bring your baby to certain designated showings.

I'm starting to get nervous at the grocery store. She wants to stand up in the cart all the time. She's only 1 so it's not a hot idea.

@IcebergMom: yeah, there have been times when I've just let DD stand. I keep waiting for an employee to yell at me or something but no one seems to care. I just shop really quickly and get outta there!

@IcebergMom: my LO does that too. I usually have a 10 minute window at the store until she starts wanting to break out.

@andrea and @boogiebea my tactic lately has been to fascinate her with freezing cold freezer things and saying brrrr in a crazy voice. I have no shame.

NFL Football game
I went to the Lions season opener today and I'm so glad I decided to get a babysitter. There were people there with babies, and I just kept thinking, man I'm glad I left her at home.

My son hates to walk in his stroller, so our solution is to have him push his baby stroller and walk with us. He sometimes holds hands, but usually wants to run around, so when he's pushing his stroller, he actually listens and follows directions.
Other than that, I take my son everywhere except the movie theater and library...I don't want to offend other patrons with his screaming and loud talking!

@prettylizy: I see people with babies at sporting events but I'm glad you were able to get a sitter!
@looch: I thought about bringing her baby stroller but haven't taken the plunge yet. I got her to sit in the mall for a little bit with iPhone videos and got a bunch of death stares from people. But they'll probably think she's so cute if she was pushing around her stroller.

@Andrea: I was nervous too, the first time I was a mess, I was so nervous, lol. He didn't listen too well, but I tried the 1-2-3 Magic steps and now it totally works. If he veers off too far or gets distracted, I give him a warning, then count to 3 and he's following me again.
I do need to get him a different stroller, the one we have is so beat up and the wheels wobble, lol.

@looch: Yes, I can picture it going well or very very badly! And I wanted to keep our stroller nice and clean since we've only used it inside. Perhaps she needs an outdoor stroller. LOL. I think it was only about $12 anyway.

@Andrea: haha, ours is a hand me down from my MIL, it's at least 20 years old and has been through my SIL and three previous grandchildren. It's also pink!
I plan to get him a new one when we move, but then, we probably won't be going for as many long walks, as it will be winter. He'll also probably hate it then too.
