What play-doh toys are good for young toddlers (ones who have passed the "tasting everything" phase)? My nephew has this, http://amzn.to/1aWG4B0, which I think is a good one for toddlers but it creeps me out, I hate the dentist. Haha.

My son loves playdough, and I'll be honest, his favorite tools are a spoon and his hands, so I'd go with a dough tools set first.

@mediagirl: I like the colours. White teeth, silver for fillings, red for.....BLOOD.

@.twist.: aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! Also, they don't "do" silver fillings anymore but...okay. GROSS.

I found a really nice set of rollers and stamps etc at Michaels in the kids section. It was cheap too like $5 for a bag of tools. I haven't invested in any of the play dough sets because they just make such a mess and require a lot of adult help.

@Mamaof2: cute! I like that one!
@autumnlove: oh that looks great for this age!! Simple tools...plus I remember that press thing from when I was a kid. Ah, nostalgia.

@mediagirl: At what age does this magical 'stops putting everything in mouth' stage start? We're at 14 months and she's tasted cat treats and a million household objects this morning alone, lol. I can't WAIT to buy her play doh though!

@mediagirl: haha, oh. I've never had a filling so I don't know. I actually love the dentist.

@travelgirl1: i can now tell her, "No, don't put that in your mouth" and she'll actually listen to me! She's 19 months.
@.twist.: you're weird and we can't be friends anymore. I think my mouth has more fillings than actual tooth material.

We have a picnic basket set and also there are some that are like trucks that lay down and roll over asphalt and stuff, my son likes those. I prefer the picnic basket myself LOL Although I prefer NOT playing with playdoh altogether honestly.

@mediagirl: whatever you do.. do NOT buy the "confetti maker" !!! http://www.amazon.com/Play-Doh-Super-Tools-Confetti-Maker/dp/B001E39Q6Q It creates bits of play do everywhere! The kids thought it was the best thing ever, but my poor carpet will never be the same!
We also have an "ice cream" machine that is very cute but a little hard to clean out.
