I want to get my kids a play kitchen for Christmas this year. My daughter will be 27 months and my son will be 11 months. I have loved the pottery barn kids ones for years, so pretty but so much $$$. Has anyone had experience getting these from PBK? Was it worth it? Do they ever go on sale? I want one of the two shown.

Do you have an IKEA near you? I see lots of IKEA play kitchen hacks on Pinterest where ppl give them cool paint jobs and replace hardware.

If you can afford it, go for it! I'm sure it's worth it, PBK quality is usually really good, except for their monogramming.
We bought the same one as @ShootingStar in navy and for $125.00, I feel like we definitely got our moneys worth.

Dying over that Chelsea one! I just got an espresso colored one off amazon by kidkraft. It has held up well in the 4 years we've had it.

@JCCovi: we have the red retro kitchen and the quality is nice. My kids didn't really enjoy playing with the kitchen set until I bought appliances that made noise and cooking tools/accessories. The kitchen doesn't get as much action as I expected and I'm actually thinking about getting rid of it next year. Kids are 4.5 and 3 in December.

@JCCovi: I got DD the PBK retro kitchen last year (3 separate pieces) and am so impressed with it. It was not cheap but I did end up getting a 20% off coupon and was able to stack it with a no shipping surcharge promo. I ended up paying about $500 for all three pieces. You can check PB outlets too - I called ours and they were happy to tell me what they had in stock and fine with 24 hour holds...unfortunately they only had pink and I wanted red so it was gender neutral.
They are very sturdy - I think more so than the kid kraft and IKEA ones I have seen in person. But then again, that can be how well the person builds it. Which brings me to my last point...set aside time to build it! All three probably took me 5 hours to assemble...thank god I didnt start on Christmas eve!

Our friends have the pbk white kitchen set. It is really good quality and we go to their house every week with other families and it has held up really well from what I can tell. It gets played with constantly while we are there. They are super cute too!

@ShootingStar: are you finding your kitchen to be big enough as the kids grow? I love the kidkraft vintage kitchen, but I'm worried it'll seem way too small for my 3 year old and 1.5 year old.

Thanks everyone! I went to PBK today to check them out and they are so darn cute! Now I just need to keep my eye out for sales! The lady at the store said I could get 10% off if I make a registry and use he completion discount. I think I'm going to make a random Halloween registry and do that plus probably sign up for their credit card since it's such a big purchase!

We use a PB card as well for the points back - it ends up being another 5% "off" I think...

@JCCovi: If you put stuff in your PB KIDS cart (linked to your e-mail) you will get coupon codes CONSTANTLY. Usually 15% off running all the time, occasional 20% off ones.

We were gifted the retro kitchen for my daughter's first bday (except in pink 
) and it's held up fantastically for the past 6/almost 7 months so far! the only problem is that the little dials are really hard for lo to turn herself (almost 19 motnhs)--that's the only design flaw I've noticed
