I know lots of moms find playgroups with babies the same age as their LOs. How do you go about finding this? I would love a group of mom friends to spend time with on a weekly basis. Will it be harder since I also have a pre-schooler along with my month old baby? Im a SAHM so I would just love to find ways to get out of the house for interaction for my kids and me

I found play groups through the local mother's club (both in my old city and my new one). I just googled city's name and mother's club. The playgroups are divided into 6 month age groups. We have several moms with older kids in my play group. They always ask the host if it's ok to bring an older kid. Some moms with toddlers only attend play dates at parks. In that case we make an effort to sit near the play equipment.

I started one on Facebook. There was a general page for Baltimore moms and I just posted that I wanted to start a play group. My mom found a grandparents group through meetup.com and said there were lots of mom groups on there as well.

When I was pregnant, my midwife gave me a list of groups in the area. I also found another one on Facebook. I don't think having a pre-schooler is an issue--one of the groups I go to has a few Mums with infants and older kids in tow

My neighborhood has a really active and well known MOMS group. When I joined (there was a fee) I had the option to request to be put into a play group with moms of similar age babies. A few weeks later I got an email introducing me to two other moms with baby girls the same age.

We took a baby yoga class for babies in her age range. After the class ended, we all exchanged emails and started an informal group.

I looked on meetup.com and we've made so many friends for both of us. We're part of our local MOMS group and it's just been great! Looking online also helped me to see what groups went to events that I was interested in. There are kids of all ages in or playgroup with play dates for certain age groups (but really anyone can go and siblings are always welcome).

@Mrs. Chocolate: I started one after meeting a handful of moms through a music class. I just passed around a sign up sheet around the class and had those who were interested write down their email. We do it Monday morning from 930-1130 rotate homes and the host provides snacks

@Mrs. Chocolate: I lucked out and found a group of really awesome moms that I connect with at Chloe's preschool. It just so happens that the other three moms all have kids 7-9months old, too. We get together about once a week for a few hours and the little ones play while the big kids play!
Super lucky. SUPER. I didn't have any mom friends or play group options until Chloe started preschool.

Meetup.com ! also it's easy to meet people at "storytime" at the library, and some churches have free playgroups

I agree with Meetup.com and the library. I met some cool moms at story time and we've been meeting up once a week or so since last April.

We found a really active MOMS group, as well. I also signed up for a Meetup...I've never had a chance to attend, but the moms in our area seriously seem to have something happening every day.

I'm looking for a play group to join as well, so these ideas are great. Wish we lived closer to each other to start our own!!

I met other mom's in the neighbourhood prenatal class and just by walking around the hood. There are 8 of us in our neighbourhood group and it's nice that we can just walk to each other's houses. I've met lots of people at our library story time too.
