I feel so silly, but I want to change my e-ring setting. :T I currently have a 6 prong classic solitaire.
DH just emailed me and gave me the go ahead to buy/order the setting I want.
But I'm having second thoughts now.
Which do you like best?
My current:
partial eternity: I'd get a 6 prong
Or Pave
This will be my last setting change. I want something I can grow old with that won't look too young when I'm 50.

oooh yay! i voted pave! i have something similar to the pic you posted.
i originally had a 6 prong solitaire like you do but ended up changing it right before my wedding. this is the one i have now with a matching band. i absolutely fell in LOVE with it when i saw it!

Given your wedding band is plain. I voted for what you have. I have a classic solitaire too. I love that it will always be in style. I feel like, while gorgeous, the pave setting is just what is trendy right now.

I vote pave, but mine looks a lot like that too! One thing to keep in mind, you have to clean the pave setting a lot more because there are so many tiny crevices for gunk to get stuck in, which is a consideration with little kids. Can you try them on with your current wedding band?

I have a plain, classic 6-prong too. I think if I ever upgrade the setting I'm doing something like this.

I voted for eternity. But someone else mentioned that your wedding band is plain and if that's the case I think you should keep the setting you have. They will look better together. I'm not a huge fan of pave, I feel like people complain about diamonds falling out all the time and I don't think it's a classic look.

If you aren't changing your wedding band too, I would leave it alone. I actually prefer plain bands. We did get ours with a hammered finish so it has a little visual interest but nothing detracting.

I think the pave setting is more long-term if that's your goal. I like the extra bling bling on the band so either or is a nice bonus in my opinion love my channel setting and matching band!

@Adira: I know, right? :T Blah. I figure if I ever wanna go back to classic solitaire, I'm keeping the setting so it won't be a big deal! I'm too embarrassed to tell you how long I kept each ring..

3 stone I had 15 months. We traded it in for the solitaire shortly after LO was born. Oh crap. I've had the solitaire 15 months too.. I so crazy.

I used to work for a luxury jeweler, and while I prefer the look of the pavé option, as an everyday ring it is not as sturdy at the first option. The diamonds in the pavé are set in a way that would make them quite prone to being lost. If you hit the underside or topside of the ring in the wrong way, it can cause them to become loose or fall out. I would not go with this option for daily wear.

Just remember that pave is hard to keep clean. I have to get my ring cleaned all the time to keep it sparkly.

Tough choice! I have a pave setting on my engagement ring and a pave wedding band, the band has held up ok, but my engagement ring is missing 3 stones. I wore it a year and a half while we were engaged & we've been married less than a year, so it's not like it's been through years of wear & tear. I don't know if I'd make the same choice of I could do it over again. Are you someone who wears your rings all the time or do you take them off to do things? I love the look of pave, but I think it depends on lifestyle.

I voted for the pave. My engagement ring is a vintage inspired ornate pave setting, and I have a plain white gold band ... I think they look nice together!

I voted for the classic solitaire after reading that your wedding band is a plain band...but then I read that you can change your wedding band too...
Maybe keep your classic solitaire setting (I would with your rock!) and do a full eternity wedding band (that's what I have :))...partial eternity is pretty but some of my friends find it frustrating when the band spins on your finger and the diamonds are not centered. Or get two full eternity bands and stack on either side of your e-ring. Btw, so jealous of your dilemma
