Thank you for the well wishes and kind words.
Just got sucker punched again. The bill from DH's SA for our IUI came in. So, essentially, I am BFN and am having hundreds of dollars siphoned from my wallet as I try to keep positive that this cycle "could" stick. π€¦ββοΈπ₯Ί I am having a glass of wine tonight because, well, today stinks.

@Kaohinani: Ugh the bills. Insult to injury. Drink away. No judgement here.

I am 12-oz in and feeling nice and warm. I told DH how p#ss#d I am that the bill came even before our "POSSIBLE" BFP could be determined. Also, I unloaded on my frustrations that with a projected "perfect" cycle we haven't gotten a BFP yet. DH agrees and is equally upset. He knows how wonderful and supportive you all are and is extremely appreciative. I may or may not become inebriated because I have "had a day

@Kaohinani: I was drinking to stay warm at a soccer game that was 25 degrees 2 days before my beta. The night before the beta I had a manhattan and we clearly had to finish off the last bottle of really good red we had in the house, and we didn't receive any surprise bills, so drink away.

@snarkybiochemist: Thank you! In my slightly enibriated musings, I am EXTREMELY grateful for your admissions. I am forever hopeful but not always as positive as I'd live in all my TCV endeavors. Thank you!

@yellowbeach: I can do that for you.
@Sams Mom: D@mn. IDK you had drank THAT much during your mini-vaca. Speaking of drinking, I woke with a slight headache after 3 glasses of wine (* work is going to stink today if it doesn't resolve) --- I can ONLY imagine how crappy you must have felt after your adventure in alcohol.

@Kaohinani: @yellowbeach: my pocket sized bestie that was with me was only a shot and maybe a drink behind me. When my husband picked us up from the bar he made us do field sobriety tests and blow on the breathalyzer. We were a shit show.

@Kaohinani: Hope today is a better day for you!
Since we're talking about hangovers. . . . Higher Clomid doses have brought hangover-like symptoms, and they take ages to go away. Does anyone on the board have tips or tricks for treating this (other than water, coffee, and Tylenol)?
clementine / 794 posts
Had my transfer yesterday! I'm still thinking about doing a test at home on 10/4 but the latest I will find out is on 10/7 when I will be having my beta!
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@breakouttheicecream: I sympathize on the higher clomid dose pains. I did a couple cycles of 150 and felt like death. You basically have all of the tips and tricks covered. I also am not opposed to NSAIDs while TTC though either, and love my Motrin.
kiwi / 518 posts
@Marfi: happy transfer! Was this a stim cycle or FET?
My second HCG just came back at 857 so I am cautiously optimistic! Going to share with DH tomorrow I think. (Heβs in the middle of a huge work thing and this kind of oblivious lol)
olive / 66 posts
@Sams Mom: Appreciate this, thank you. Ughhh, 150! I imagine it's just worse each time they up the dose.
And you made it through. Hope everything's going okay for you this pregnancy.
@Marfi, Congrats on your transfer!
clementine / 794 posts
@skiierchck99: We did a FET. Our first retrieval (last year) we did a fresh transfer that failed followed by a FET which was successful so we just skipped the fresh transfer this time and went straight to the FET!

@Kaohinani: Totally team #drinktillitspink over here. I drank A LOT of beer the weekend before my bfp. No regrets!

Ugh
Iβm just going to join with my own pity party! BFN (evening of 9dpo - I know there is theoretically time but in my a million pregnancies I am usually out with a negative by now) and just exhausted by this whole process. Iβm starting to feel like I need to move towards acceptance that a rainbow wonβt happen for me Iβll probably keep trying but I feel like I have to be realistic too. Iβll be drinking tonight too π€£
grapefruit / 4144 posts
So, I took yesterday "off" of the board because (a) I was super busy with work and exam prep for my students, and (2) I needed a tiny break from "all things TTC." Having a minor nagging hangover headache didn't help my day but all was fine.
@paranundrum: I am okay today. Thank you so much for asking.
@Sams Mom: π€ That was an impressive amount ... especially by your "my-sized" friend! I like how your DH administered a sobriety field test and you two failed. π€£
@JennyLayneAZ: Thank you. I am also in #teamDrinkTilItsPink. With DD, I didn't know I was pregnant π€¦ββοΈ (found out at 6 weeks) and thought my symptoms were flu-related π€’. The whole 6 weeks, I went out and socially smoked and drank! I quit both as soon as my HPT came up BFP. With DS, I was having a glass of red wine
every night with supper. Quit it (woefully π₯Ί) when I found I was BFP (@ under 4 weeks). This cycle just got me and I had to drown my tears.
@fuzzypeaches: I know exactly how you feel. I was so excited to have gotten a BFP only for it to, actually, be a BFN.
Part of me wants to keep trying because I am no "quitter" and I want my baby more than anything. The other part keeps saying, "You have been trying for so long and have done all you can up until this point ... it is just you. Move on." I hate the voices (not literal "voices," I am not THAT nuts π€ͺ), as they are conflicting and give me no resolve. I feel helpless in my body ... but, I will probably keep going because the only way to get what you want is to keep trying.
@Yellowbeach: YES! That meme is epically true and funny as all h#ll. π€£π€£
π€£ Thank you for sharing it.

@yellowbeach: yes! Or the 5 day wait if youβre going to be an addict like me

Cycle day 14 and feeling a little sick (possible cold coming on) and a little discouraged. I'm almost at the end of 6 nights off and patiently waiting for a positive Opk, but I'm guessing the universe will make sure it coincides with when I return to work and have 4 nights on instead... Anyone want to join my pity party?
Also, ttc is making me so over-cautious to the point of being superstitious. I stopped drinking alcohol, now I've also given up coffee, I've changed my diet and exercise (for fear of being "too harsh" on my body), and the other day I canceled an appointment to donate blood, which I love to do, for fear that my body would perceive it as a signal not to ovulate... Someone smack some sense into me!
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@MoonMoon: I feel you. I am not [yet] in my pity-party mode (give me a few days). I had given up ALL alcohol and switched from coffee to decaffeinated green tea for 13 mos of my 43 mos trying and it didn't equate to diddly squat. My DD was conceived after I got my M.ED (and was teaching upper elementary) and I was in "social drinking and smoking" (cigarettes) mode with friends and co-workers. DS was conceived after DH came home from his deployment. We would attend parties & luaus, and I'd drink. It was ironic that I could conceive when NOT being "careful" and can not now when all I do [now] is infrequently imbibe alcohol. π€¦ββοΈ I DO understand the concern though ... It is about being healthy, having the best quality eggs to conceive, and providing the best chance to do so. That stated, everything in moderation should be fine.
pomegranate / 3393 posts
@Kaohinani: I hear what you're saying! I remember when my DS was conceived, I was so sure I wasn't pregnant that I drank a large beer at my favorite Indian restaurant! In general, I was so chill last time around...
P. S. I'm holding out hope for you/with you until September 30, darn it!
