@Marfi: Great progression!
@MoonMoon: I think that’s definitely true - consistency increases accuracy - but the temp rises I had were significant enough to still detect O. Maybe worth a shot.

Waiting to go back for my blood draw! Here’s my continued progression! (Edit: not sure why it’s showing up sideways )

Just a quick check-in and hello! For anyone in the tww, solidarity! I know that chances are very low that we conceived, based on the sperm analysis results, but I have to admit, I'll be so sad nevertheless. In the spirit of the season, I'm holding out hope, for myself and everyone on this thread!

@MoonMoon: I’m doing well, just anxiously waiting for my second beta on Thursday!! Just took a couple tests to make sure everything is progressing!

I was hoping I'd be able to POAS today, but I actually just got a positive OPK today so looks like I won't be testing until Jan 9. Ugh, long cycles are the worst when you're TTC!

Well it looks like this month we got a sticky baby! My second beta was 2636!

Hi all, I think I'm out again. I know I shouldn't be surprised, but I am so sad. Silver lining is this cycle at least made it to 28 days.
We got an appointment with the urologist for DH for Feb 6. I hate how far away that is. My 41st birthday is in March. I'm wondering about reaching out to the fertility practice in the meanwhile, or is it better to do one thing at a time?

@MoonMoon: don’t wait, IMO. It takes a while for everything to get moving anyway. If they want to wait till after, they will tell you, but you can at least have an initial visit. Curious, is dh going for semen analysis? My dh never went to a urologist - I think my OB ordered the semen analysis and he just stopped at the lab to give a sample.

@skiierchck99: he did have a semen analysis which came back abnormal, which is why we were referred to the urologist. I can't stand the waiting game! I wish they had a fast track for older patients Like you said, I think I'm going to get the ball rolling with the fertility specialist while we wait for the urology consult.

@MoonMoon: interesting. DH also came back abnormal but they never referred him anywhere. I won’t second guess it now but it seems odd! Maybe he just had too many “off” dimensions haha. We did some iui rounds but they would have let us move to ivf much quicker than we did. I would at least get into the first appointment while you wait!

@skiierchck99: that is interesting! I wish my OB would give us some interpretation/counseling instead of just a referral. Like, are we still candidates for IUI? Is IVF our only chance? I would love some real counseling and I hope the urologist and fertility Drs can give us that.
Did you guys end up with success with IVF?

@MoonMoon: yes! DD1 is almost 2 and I’m 17 weeks with #2. We did IVF with ICSI. Your OB or RE should also recommend bloodwork for you and a test to check your tubes. They’re based on the day of your cycle (day 3 and day 7-12 maybe?) so even once you’d encode to do that testing it can take time before you can do it. Of course, I have 45 day cycles these days so it was a heck of a wait!

@skiierchck99: so happy to hear that! Congratulations on your babies!
Yes I did all the bloodwork and the HSG in the last few months. I seem to be within normal ranges (though I seem to have late ovulation and subsequent short lutenizing phase, but my Dr hasn't seemed concerned about it so who knows).

@MoonMoon: I can’t remember what Husbands counts were (could maybe look them up if you were interested) but he was low in count, morphology, and motility, as I recall, though at this point the original test was like January 2015. But because I was normal and the numbers were not zero our RE was never really concerned because they weren’t zero. Also, if you do end up doing assisted cycles with ends, your natural cycle length won’t matter at all - I was worried about that since I’m so long but it all ends up being controlled. And, if you do go that route, I’d limit IUI attempts to 3-4 if you can afford it/have coverage. A nurse told me that, I didn’t listen, but should have! Wishing you luck and success in the new year - I know how hard the waiting and trying can be.

@MoonMoon: Late to the conversation but wanted to share our MFI story! We did 3 IUIs (all failed). The count when he had his first appointment with the Urologist was 5 million something. The first IUI count was 12.6, I don't have record of what it was the second IUI and then the third and final IUI the post wash count was .6 million. We moved on to IVF after that and had our son from our first FET.

@Marfi: thank you for sharing, this gives me lots of hope! I'll have to dig up the report to find exact numbers from the semen analysis.
@chypmunk: I'm sorry!
