Ugh, I'm out this month. Every month, I prepare myself for disappointment, so that it doesn't upset me as much. Then, AF shows, and I'm crushed.

    Good luck to everyone!

@futuremama: It's hard-- you can TELL yourself that your hopes aren't up, but then you get disappointed all over. Have some wine, soft cheese, ice cream, whatever gets you through it!

it's official, this ttc biz is gonna be incredibly hard on me. I'm such an impulsive, impatient person! Today at the MOST is 10 DPO, and this is the third day in a row that I tested! Ugh, the madness! How do you ladies convince yourself to wait? And to not constantly symptom spot!! I've got a list a mile long of things that I notice, but I also have been eating badly and skipping exercise this past two weeks, so pretty sure I am just tired and headachy from being off my routine. Oy, we only decided to start trying last month, and I'm already a crazed woman - my hubs called it from the start - I tried to say let's causally try, and he rebuttal was that we either are or we aren't - he knows me too well. /rant over

@runnerd: I don't convince myself to wait-- instead I bought a pack of cheapie Wondfos from Amazon so I don't have to feel guilty about testing too early! I do wait for 10DPO though, since I know nothing will show before that. So far for me, only on my second cycle TTC, it's easier for me to take a test in the morning and know that it was negative all day, then to think about it ALL DAY LONG like, maybe it would have been positive this morning? Having an answer, even a temporary one, is easier than not knowing. But like I said, only my second cycle. I know the BFNs can get really depressing after a while.

I'm still waiting to confirm O right now, so every day I'm like, hmm, is that O pain? Or just gas? I've been giving my ovaries silent pep talks.

@runnerd: Oh I feel you! It's my first cycle, I THINK I'm finally about 3DPO, but I'm not even sure... I have been symptom spotting for days. I also told my Husband we'd be NTNT, and he clearly doesn't believe me at this point. We're full blown TTC hahaha

It's killing me not to take a test right now! Is this the 2 week wait? Is this what makes women go crazy??

  14. mlm2934

    grapefruit / 4311 posts

@.twist.: haha, I'm glad I'm not the only who thought they could NTNT and was wrong

@foodnerd81 I really need to buy the cheapos! My hubs was horrified that I had wasted three of the expensive ones when it was still too early to tell lol

@runnerd: It's only my first cycle TTC, but the thing that's keeping me from testing up to today at 9 dpo is that I know I'll be happier in the next few days thinking there is a possibility I am KU instead of getting a negative and feeling depressed/stressed about it as well as wasting the $ on a test. Although I am probably going to test either tomorrow or Sat morning so don't listen to me lol!

I don't even know where to buy the cheapos!

  16. Foodnerd81

    wonderful cherry / 21504 posts

@runnerd: @Modern Daisy: I started out with the Dollar Store tests-- mine are technically $1.29 They work just as well as the drug store ones, so I'm told, and then I didn't feel bad not just waiting for AF to be due. This time, though, I decided to get the Amazon cheapies-- I paid $8 for 25. Now I can pee every day starting at 10DPO. I have a 2 pack of First Response Early Result to use if I have a questionable result on the cheap ones.

@runnerd: I usually don't keep tests in the house. If they are here I will use them. One time I tested and got AF 20 minutes later, so now I generally know better....

AF is due today, but so far nothing! I'll be testing tomorrow morning if she still hasn't shown up.

Roll this girl over... AF made her appearance yesterday. I'm slightly disappointed but actually relieved considering we were told to wait 2 months before trying again anyway soooooooooooo our two months are officially up!

    @Mrs squirreld: you're out??

@everbee: bummer. I hope you have some wine waiting at home for you.

I'm pretty sure I finally Oed, so what I thought was a conservative poas date looks like it is spot on. So begins the tww.

@everbee: My temp dropped the same day I POAS, not by a lot but it did drop a significant amount and I got a BFP. Maybe you should POAS tomorrow if AF doesn't show??

    Good luck Turkey Smugglers!!

@kpow: really? i'm afraid to be hopeful~! i'm already feeling AF symptoms. i guess if it doesn't show tomorrow i'll POAS sunday? it's just getting painful to see the "Not Pregnant" month after month.

@everbee: so sorry! Do you do baked brie? It's almost doubly delicious.

Can I get added to the POAS list?

I had cross hairs on FF yesterday, and my temp dropped this morning (although it's not really an accurate reading), and now it's saying no ovulation detected any more. I'm pretty confused.

My POAS date was November 24 but it's gone now.

  30. Foodnerd81

    wonderful cherry / 21504 posts

@Modern Daisy: Good luck-- and good luck holding out to Sunday!
@.twist.: I forget what they call it, but I usually have my temp drop a day or two after O, then go back up (fall back temp, I think). So FF might take away the crosshairs, but then if it goes back up and stays up, give them back for that same day. I'm not entirely sure what happened this month, but my first several months charting on 2DPO it would go down then shoot back up, for me.

  31. .twist.

    pineapple / 12802 posts

@Foodnerd81: ah thanks! I was so excited to finally get those cross hairs and was so sad to see them go away! Hopefully my temp goes back up. Last night was a very restless sleep since my husband started working night snow shifts so I'm all alone and I never sleep well. I am wondering if maybe that had something to do with it?

Another question, if you use a temp corrector, do you use the corrected temp or the original one on FF?

  32. everbee

    cherry / 101 posts

@.twist: i LOVE baked brie. but i can't have anything with flour right now...it's complicated, but i'm taking this custom herbal medication that's supposed to help me relax (that's what the herbal doctor identified is the reason i can't get pregnant). so i can't have flour, raw cabbage, or vinegar while i take this nasty herbal medication

  33. Foodnerd81

    wonderful cherry / 21504 posts

@.twist.: I don't use a temp corrector because I don't know the answer to your question. I just put the time I took it in FF, and put a note in the notes section saying whatever happened (woke up early, etc). Then I wait a few days, and if the temp looks out of whack, I discard it. There is probably a better way to do that and it's probably why my chart has been a little wonky the last 2 months.

  34. .twist.

    pineapple / 12802 posts

@everbee: this may be the most stupid question ever, but does brie have flour in it?

@Foodnerd81: ah, that's a good idea, I'll probably just keep my original temp and make a note. Even when I did put it through the temp corrector it only changed it by .04c. Is that a significant change even?

Sorry for so many questions, I feel like such an idiot haha

  35. everbee

    cherry / 101 posts

@.twist: no? but when i make baked brie i wrap in puff pastry? or would you just bake it alone?

  36. .twist.

    pineapple / 12802 posts

@everbee: oooooh. haha yea, I do it a little different. I put craisins and shaved almonds and drizzle maple syrup over it and bake it like that.

  37. everbee

    cherry / 101 posts

@.twist: oh haha..that sounds yummy too~! i could try that but nothing beats buttery fatty puff pastry..mmm...

  38. Foodnerd81

    wonderful cherry / 21504 posts

@.twist.: That brie sounds amazing. I'm too American-- I don't really know if .04C is significant, but I want to say no! You can always manipulate it later, so I like to just put the true one to start and put all the details in the notes to myself if I go back and it looks funny.

  39. mlm2934

@.twist.: that Brie combo sounds delicious, I have a major weakness for cheese!

@Foodnerd81 @.twist.: I started researching temping last night and it seems so overwhelming, plus I got the impression that it was "too late" to do anything if you hadn't once the temp shift happens. And now I'm even more confused after reading ya'lls back and forth. Do you think the temping helps? Can monitoring CM be enough? So many things I knew nothing about a month ago
