@caitlinbren: welcome!! i'm also caught up in idea of wanting to know something before thanksgiving, even though I wouldn't share with any family that early

i have taken a few tests waaaay too early and promised i wouldnt take anymore unless AF was late. then yesterday morning my gums were bleeding when I brushed my teeth, which hardly ever happens - of course I remembered reading that somewhere as a possible early symptom, and poas at 2am this morning with bfn. ugh - evil coincidence I guess.

I'm out... went on a trip right after I tested so I didn't update but AF arrived today further confirming. What are we smuggling in December... ornaments? Wreaths? Embryo in a box? LOL. Oy. Next cycle....

@caitlinbren: welcome! Good luck!
@KJfromNJ: LOL Embryo in a box. One for everyone, please!

@runnerd: It's impossible not to read into these things. Last month, our first month TTC when we actually had good timing, my boobs hurt worse than they ever, ever have, so I was SURE I'd get a BFP. No. But I really am sure they hurt worse than ever before, even though they always hurt after O. This month, now they are hurting a lot, but at least I know it's just 'normal' so I shouldn't assign it as a symptom.
When do you POAS then? I'm 7 DPO now, I am thinking I will do a Wondfo Friday after work (after a 4 hour hold if I can manage that), then again on Sunday. It would be nice to surprise DH when he gets home Friday night, but realistically I know it's still early (will be 11DPO).

@.twist.: Yes lol! And if Justin Timberlake wants to bring them then SURE WHY NOT!
pineapple / 12802 posts
@KJfromNJ: I would definitely not complain about that. Bradley Cooper would do nicely as well... I mean, we can't ALL have Justin, so why not send a few of those boys out.

@KJfromNJ: Sorry about AF
@Runnerd: I tested early today too...don't know what I was thinking. I have no symptoms at all, and a bad feeling about this month before it even started.
grapefruit / 4862 posts
@.twist.: SO true. PS have you seen Bradley Cooper speaking french? I die. If you haven't, google it. He's fluent. My husband speaks french and even said that BC was really good. Maybe I'll have to just play that on repeat in about 2 weeks French is sexy!

@mango.sprays: thanks... last month was the first really "trying" but I found out I O earlier than I thought so I am considering that a dress rehearsal ... and am charting this cycle and am more optimistic... trying to be positive! I'm learning a lot too which is great!
pineapple / 12802 posts
@KJfromNJ: Only a little bit from A-Team! Which was totally sexy. I'm impressed that wasn't just a one liner and he actually is fluent! HAWT.

I'm out!!!! AF has arrived. Good luck to the rest of you ladies!!
@Foodnerd81: I thought I was going crazy cause my cycles are usually about 40-45 days, but I could have sworn based on CM and cramps that I O'd on CD 20, which would make my LP way too long. Now at least I know I'm not crazy - this cycle was 35 days and if I am right about O, that was 15 days ago, so I feel a little more confident for reading my body signs next month! good luck - I'm all about wanting to surprise the hubs too.
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
@runnerd: Boo for AF, but it really is nice to know your body's signs and understand what is happening when. I'm glad you are seeing the silver lining! It's amazing the things that you didn't really think that much about, but once you actually chart it and track it, you can see that it always follows a pattern. Good luck next month!
pineapple / 12802 posts
@runnerd: Boo to AF! Hopefully with the better knowledge of your cycle you'll make it happen next month!

@KJfromNJ: embryo in a box! Lolol! Even DH laughed at that one!
Sorry for everyone that's out! Join me in December poas!

@Ash: Is there a Dec POAS group yet? Gah, December seems so far away!
honeydew / 7909 posts
@KJfromNJ: naaaaaaah! I haven't seen one. I'd say it's still early although I'm ready to get the party started! Ha

@Ash: haha... same! Looking ahead! Gosh, it won't be long til the girls who get a BFP are having babies in 2014... jeez, time flys!

@Foodnerd81: If you're going to test on Friday, I'd do it in the morning instead of after work.
I'm currently 5DPO and the trigger seems to be 99.9 percent gone. Only a teeny tiny shadow left this morning. I'm not sure if I'll keep testing until it goes completely white, or if I'll hold off a few days and test this weekend.
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
@MrsCB: I know, normally I always would in the morning, but I don't think I could go to work all day, I'd rather just be at home with DH for the night. But.... I might just do it Friday morning. We'll see

Definitely a little crampy tonight. I'm hoping it is implantation cramps!

My period is 4 days late now. Wth? I tested when I was 2 days late and it was negative so I know that's not goin to change but I don't want to go back to long cycles blah
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
@anonysquire: You chart, right, so you know your O date for sure? That's very strange. I would give it a few more days then test again. Sorry your uterus is F-ing with you. That sucks.
pineapple / 12802 posts
@Foodnerd81: I have been crampy since yesterday morning! What the heck!
@anonysquire: could your test have been old? I did read somewhere that they expire and give negative results... ? maybe? or do you think it's the start of a longer cycle? Either way, boo.
cantaloupe / 6923 posts
@Foodnerd81: I don't chart. So I really have no idea when I do what. We bd on the fertile days of my period tracker ap and now my period has been 4 days late.
cantaloupe / 6923 posts
@.twist.: well the test is prob 1.5 month old. Does that matter?
pineapple / 12802 posts
@anonysquire: Hm. Not sure how long they last, there should be an expiry date on the box if you still have it. sorry I can't be more help.
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@anonysquire: I think they are good for a good while, so 1.5mo shouldn't matter. and feel ya on the long cycle annoyance!
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
@anonysquire: If you don't chart, then, yeah... you may well just be late, who knows? I ovulated several days later than expected, so my period is due several days later than I thought at first. All you can do is wait and test every few days, but I know seeing the BFN is really upsetting. Sorry you are going through this. I don't think a month or two would make a difference, unless it was about to expire when you bought it.
@runnerd: Thanks-- I hope it was the good cramps too. It felt like very mild AF cramps, but lower, if that makes any sense, and lasted a few hours. So of course, instead of sleeping last night, I was looking up implantation cramping on my Iphone. Seriously symptom spotting over here.

Okay, I am super confused and need some help. I tested on Monday with the clearblue +/- test and got a very faint +. The test directions are extremely confusing and don't actually say what it means if the + is very faint like some other tests do. So tuesday am I used a digital, but it came out negative. I still haven't gotten AF and I'll go for a blood test next week regardless, but has anyone used the Clearblue +/- test and can weigh in on this?
I just ordered the cheapies from Amazon but I am NOT wasting another $10 to POAS!!
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
@Modern Daisy: I heard the blue dye tests can be confusing, though I've never used one. Do you have a dollar store near you? I'd pick up a couple of tests and do it tomorrow morning-- the wait would be seriously stressing me out right now!
AFM, remember when I said I would wait until Friday to test? Liar. Tested this morning, BFN, 9 DPO. Still early.
grapefruit / 4187 posts
@Foodnerd81: I am also a liar since I might just run to the drugstore at lunch and spend another $10!!
Sorry about your BFN, but it is still pretty early for you - there's still hope!
I had no idea the blue dye tests has so many issues. I went to POAS.com and saw that so many people had false positives, which is totally crazy. No I'm not anywhere near a dollar store unfortunately
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
@Modern Daisy: You may as well just get the First Response Early Result test, if you are spending the money anyway. I have heard they are the most reliable early on and never heard any complaints about it. I have a 2 pack waiting at home, in case I get any unclear results on a cheapie. Why yes, I do have 28 HPTs at home, 3 different brands. NOOO I'm not crazy.

@Modern Daisy: I had a false positive on a blue dye test, they're totally evil.

@MrsCB: Ugh, I'm so sorry! Thanks for sharing though, it is very helpful.

@MrsCB: that must have been heartbreaking to see a + only to find out it was wrong!! I'm so sorry!
@Modern Daisy: Fingers crossed for you! Keep us updated!
