@Crystal: I really don't know why I'm doing it this month. Last night I found the basal thermometer that I kicked under the bed months ago after I bought it. I'm just going to be "whatevs" about it.

    @littlek: I think a 6+ POAS thread is a great idea!

    Estimated O Date: CD21/Jan 22
    POAS/AF date: Feb 2
    Cycle #: Lucky #13
    Chart link: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/doxielove
Trying new this cycle: Nothing new.
Are you planning on doing anything for Valentines day? No, we don't celebrate Valentine's day.

@LindsayInNY: Can you transfer some of your positive energy to me!? I soooo badly want to be on the October due dates board, too!!

Hi everyone! It's been awhile since I've joined a POAS thread, but with the new 6+ months split and the positive vibes going on here, I decided to participate. I would also love to be an October mom!

I've been working with an RE for awhile, but I'm taking February off from drugs. I have no idea what my body is going to do on its own, and we'll be gone for over a week for travels, so I may end up being more of a cheerleader here.

Estimated O Date: CD 17-18 on my own, but it's been earlier for the last three cycles on injectables

    POAS/AF date: not sure!

Cycle #: 17ish (we were NTNP for 3-4 months)

Trying new this cycle: It's more like what I'm not doing--no meds, no OPKs

Are you planning on doing anything for Valentines day?: We leave the next day for our trip, so we'll probably just eat at home.

    @septca: Thank you!

I was thinking about you the other day when I was picking my POAS date. I am pretty sure I will follow the early and often strategy!

Are you going somewhere fun for vacation?

  9. Happygal

@Crystal: thanks! It should be fun--we're going on a cruise to the Caribbean. Hopefully we will avoid the norovirus that just took down a Royal Caribbean cruise!

I haven't gotten AF yet, but I'm on CD 30 and got a BFN today, so I know it's coming soon. I'll answer the questions as soon as I start my new cycle! Hopefully that is today or tomorrow because I'll go insane if I have to wait much longer.

@mrs. tictactoe: how long are your cycles normally?

@Happygal: that sounds like so much fun! Did they make you take vaccines?

well ladies, I may well be joining you. it's looking like my Jan BFP was my fourth chemical. I won't know for sure until later this week but it doesn't look good. we're just touching 6 months this time around but I think two chemicals qualifies me, right???

I'll jump in with the survey once I see where things are going - I may not be POAS again until March but I want to cheerlead at least! I feel like shit about what's happening but want to find some positive energy and look forward.

  17. Crystal

    grapefruit / 4028 posts

@bhbee: You can definitely join in here.

    What's going on? What happened?

  18. bhbee

    cantaloupe / 6086 posts

@Crystal: it's not confirmed yet but doesn't look good. FRERs starting getting lighter and beta today was 28 which isn't great for 13dpo. pattern matches up exactly with my 3 previous chemicals, so I'm preferring to look forward vs hold out hope for a miracle.

ps sorry for anyone who has seen this on multiple boards. it's so helpful to have people to "talk" to though!

    POAS/AF date: 2/9
Cycle #: not sure.. probably 10 or 11
    Chart link: n/a
Trying new this cycle: acupuncture, more exercise, different BD schedule
Are you planning on doing anything for Valentines day? Cooking a fancy dinner, BD (although I won't be ovulating), and HOUSE OF CARDS marathon (season 2 comes out that day on Netflix)

  24. bhbee

    cantaloupe / 6086 posts

@Happygal: It sounds like this could be a really good month for you! Don't some girls get a surge of good hormones after they get off fertility drugs? I hope you get some fun, stress-free BDing in on your cruise!!!

@MrsMcD: i am doing my best to prepare! I am so scared bc I'm from Seattle where it's never super cold for very long

  32. deactivated_account

    GOLD / pomegranate / 3938 posts

@sandy: I feel your fear on that one! I'm from SoCal! Its really never too cold here. I will be looking for you on TV from sunny Scottsdale!!

  33. Happygal

    pomelo / 5000 posts

@Crystal: I'm up to date on all my vaccines and got my flu shot, too. I think there's not much you can do for the norovirus though--wear gloves all the time? So gross. Have you ever had it before? I've had it twice and wanted to die.

@CatchAFallingStar: is House of Cards that show set in D.C? I'm trying to remember if I've seen it. . . are you still set to see your RE this month? I'm guessing you decided to hold off on the IUI for last cycle, but correct me if I'm wrong!

@MrsMcD: I've never heard of that, but a surge of good hormones sounds excellent! And two thumbs up for the stress free BDing. It's honestly been awhile! Maybe I should buy some new lingerie--any recs for places to shop?

@sandy: That's so cool about the Super Bowl! Have you ever left your daughter for that long of time before? What other fun things do you have planned?

@bhbee: you know I'm thinking of you today.

  34. deactivated_account

    GOLD / pomegranate / 3938 posts

@Happygal: There's no better lingerie than your naked booty!!! Get to it, lady!!

  35. Crystal

    grapefruit / 4028 posts

@bhbee: how long are they making you wait?

I ended up having to wait 36 hours between mine. longest 36 hours of my life, closely rivaled by the 4 hours after that for results.

@CatchAFallingStar: I love House of Cards! And laughed out loud about BDing.

@MrsMcD: @sandy: I can't handle the cold like the rest of the country can, my SoCal blood can't take it!

  36. sandy

    cantaloupe / 6687 posts

@MrsMcD: I ordered a long plum puffy coat from Lands End and will be wrapped up in my Seahawks snuggie.

@Happygal: the longest we've left her is 3 days for our 5 year anniversary this past September but we were only a 3-4 hour drive away...it's psychologically tough for me across the country during winter...not being able to get back quickly if something something happens. My husband plans to just keep me super busy - we're staying in Times Square and have dinner plans in Brooklyn (Hunters - my husbands college roommate started it with his friends), Craft (Tom Collichi's restaurant) and at Ko (one of the Momofuko restaurants). We also have tickets to see Book of Mormon. They are also shutting down several blocks on Broadway and it's called Super Bowl boulevard so we'll do that too. We also have tickets to go up the Empire State Building and do the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island. We'll also spend half a day at Central Park and go get those French macarons. We're also planning to hit up Shake Shack and some other food carts I read good things about on HB. we've been on a diet since New Years so we can indulge in New York We have several friends who are going to be in NYC for the Super Bowl so we'll meet up with them too. I'm super excited...hopefully I'll get a positive on my OPK before we leave or else I'm going to be bringing them to NYC with me

@MrsMcD: @Crystal: we're not big travelers...haven't gone on a nice vacation in 5 years (we spent all our vacations visiting family in Alabama - I've been there 4 times in the last 5 years)...so this is our one big trip...and once in a lifetime Super Bowl trip so we're definitely trying to make the most of it
