@Crystal: going back thurs. I'm ok with it - if I don't have a darker test tomorrow it's over. Frers have never steered me wrong and I've been down this road plenty. Not really hoping for anything but I'm the personality where I'll be glad to know and start looking ahead.

@Happygal: Yes, House of Cards is a political show, set in DC. I would have never thought I'd like it, but I LOVE it, and so does my hubby. Watch Season One again if you've already seen it. I missed so much the first time.
Yes, first RE appointment TOMORROW. EEK! And yes, I did skip the IUI. I figured it would be better to wait for RE's opinion before jumping into it.

@bhbee: saw your update on the other thread - just so sorry you are dealing with your 4th chemical. I hope you get some answers/help soon. That just sucks to go through that emotional roller coaster

@sandy: As a NYC-er, definitely bundle up! Depending on what the wind chill is, I would bring more and not less. Think: hat, neck warmer thing (is that what everyone calls them?), gloves (maybe gloves inside of mittens), multiple socks, little heat warmer things like when you ski. Trying to think of what else... As for things to do, sounds like you have a lot of it covered!! Hope you have fun!!!

@LindsayInNY: thanks for the tips! We are packing multiple hats, hotties (that's what we call those hand/feet warmer packets that you shake up)...multiple gloves and scarves and some sub-zero weather socks...and our face mask covers. We also ordered some heavy duty ponchos in case it's wet snow during the game. I'm going for warmth rather than fashion ;). I'm kind of at a loss at what people wear out to dinner though...are dark jeans and a sweater ok? I can't even imagine wearing a skirt or dress or a non-sweater top.

@sandy: I'm clueless about dinner clothes in NYC, but I do have two words for you: long underwear! I love them--Cuddlduds are my current favorite. That sounds like an incredible trip!
@mrsmcd: I like the way you think, lady! Naked booty is painless on the wallet, too.
@CatchAFallingStar: good luck tomorrow! I hope your RE can give you a fresh perspective on things and you can come up with a good game plan.

@Happygal: I'm so cheap about some things. Lingerie is not something I want to spend money on and DH prefers naked naked over anything!
bananas / 9229 posts
@sandy: Perfect warm weather attire!! Those face masks will definitely help if it's windy out! At that point, fashion goes out the window, LOL! For dinner, dark jeans are definitely fine with a sweater. I'm assuming they're not cable knit type sweaters but cute, dressier ones? Depending on what time you go out to dinner, you'll see various outfits... If it's later and people are going out after dinner, they'll probably be a bit dressier. But from a look at the restaurants, you should be fine. Ko looks like the fanciest of the three. Also, for Broadway, people dress all over the place - I've seen jeans to dresses. If you have a matinee show, it'll probably be a bit more laid back. Are you taking the train from NYC to the stadium?

@sandy: I'm no expert, but my husband had a client in Hoboken so we have spent a ton of time up there.
My favorite places:
Martine's Chocolates in Bloomingdales
Saks Shoe Floor (it's ah-mazing!)
David Yurman Flagship store
Trixie and Peanut (if you have a canine friend)

@sandy: Oh and going to Ellis Island it will probably be freezing.. Definitely bundle up that day!
cantaloupe / 6687 posts
@LindsayInNY: they have Super Bowl buses from the city to the stadium...we started booking our stuff last week and so many time slots were full. So we got a 2:30 time slot and will take it from some terminal near Central Park. Okay, so nicer knit sweaters are ok with dark jeans; thanks!

@Happygal: yes! I ordered some long underwear off amazon! We also are packing snow pants to wear over our long underwear/jeans

@sandy: Oh, that's super convenient! Nicer knit like work sweaters more so than ski slope sweaters! Hope you have fun!!

@LindsayInNY: so I've been a SAHM for the past 2 years so all my tops are casual (like long sleeve cotton shirts). Like you, I was an attorney (for 6 years) before decided to SAHM so I have all these work tops that are either too short now (even though I'm at my pre-pregnancy weight everything is shifted and my old tops are so short on me now) or just kind of outdated...sigh...I figure there will tons of tourists like me everywhere so no one will be judging my outfits
bananas / 9229 posts
@sandy: What about a nicer long sleeve top with a necklace? Or a cardigan? You're right, no one will be judging your outfits! And if they are, you'll never see them again anyways!
cantaloupe / 6687 posts
@LindsayInNY: so this is my outfit today and I just threw on a scarf...something like this is ok for dinner in Brooklyn bc it's a casual place? And a nicer top for dinner at Craft/Ko and add a necklace or big earrings to dress it up? I cannot imagine wearing a dress and walking around the city

@sandy: I'm crashing this thread just to say that you look ADORABLE!
apricot / 435 posts
@sandy: I'm also crashing this thread with @HolisticMama to say I also think you look great! I'm not familiar with nice restaurants in NY, but I work in DC, and I think as a tourist in DC, you could totally get away with that, especially with some really nice jewelry and a cardigan!
Also, SUPERBOWL!! My fiance grew up in Shoreline: he's a Husky and a massive Seahawks fan, and he would DIE to be able to go, even with the awful cold! Have fun!

@LindsayInNY: Love your positivity, please tell me what cherri22 is??????
cantaloupe / 6687 posts
@HolisticMama: thank you!
@Ms.Pumpkin: thanks! I'm also a Husky and had lots of friends living in shoreline in college. My childhood friend lives in DC and is taking the train to NYC Super Bowl weekend to participate in the festivities. Apparently 17% of the tickets were purchase from WA state so I'm hoping I'll see tons of Seahawks fans around
bananas / 9229 posts
@sandy: That would definitely be fine for Brooklyn! And dressing up the top for dinner would absolutely work! You could even throw a blazer over a solid top if you have one!
@FaithFertility: She's a fertility/pregnancy psychic (don't laugh!). Jenny Renny is another. Cheri22 has free readings but they often taken a couple months to receive.

@sandy: get out!! I've been to Hunter's for brunch, love their truffle fries great outfit - have a blast and stay warm.
I have the pleasure of experiencing Super Bowl Blvd every day this week since I work on Broadway - it's very loud (sigh) I hate Time's Square lol
Fun little fact and humble brag: my DH worked on a good portion of House of Cards. It's a great show.

Are you planning on doing anything for Valentines day? Yes-I will be very early in the tww so DH & I are making reservations to our favorite sushi bar. MMmmmm
I have secondary infertility this time around. My doctor says I am not ovulating at all and furthermore, according to my history, when I do get pregnant i'll need progesterone supplementation. That's all OK. I am willing. I just want to be pregnant and have a healthy baby.
If things don't go well this cycle, I will see my doctor at the end of my cycle and up my clomid, also give me the # to a RE.
GOOD LUCK to everyone. I am heavily invested in this cycle and am really hoping this cycle brings baby dust to all.
