If you're from Portland or have visited Portland before, what hotel would you recommend? A baby/husband free trip for this mama! My friend wants to stay at the Ace Hotel but i feel like for the same price, i want to stay at a place that has more comfy looking beds!

The Ace is a pretty hip place, very fun. Right across from a very loud night club, if that's a plus or a minus.

Portland, Oregon, right? The Nines is super nice. Close to restaurants and down town shopping too.
I've also stayed at The Benson, which is a beautiful hotel...but honestly, kind of creepy!! There's some ghost stories about the place too which I didn't know about until after I stayed.

If you're talking Portland Oregon I second The Nines, also The Edgefield McMennamins in Troutdale is super fun. The Paramount is really nice too.

The Kennedy School is RAD. I love it.

I liked the ace! Super hip and good location to downtown.
We stayed at the modera once and I really liked it but it's not exactly central.

Just wanted to chime in and say all of these are excellent recommendations. Also-- Anything owned by McMenamins (Edgefield, Kennedy School etc) will be quirky, wonderful, and fun-- we love them-- but be warned that some of their rooms are European style, some are hostel style even, so be specific about what kind of room you reserve.

Also love the mcmenamins...if youre going for a laid back vibe
weve always gotten great massages at their spas....and if you can time it when there is live music its even better! There definitely not right I the middle of town or in touristy areas if that is what youre looking for!
