Are there any? For the kids' benefit, not the parents.
(Although benefits to parents are certainly valid reasons!)
The only thing I can think of that each kid gets more time to be the baby.

There might be less competition because they'll always be in different stages. And they don't have to share as much (clothes,toys, time, attention, etc...), which they will probably appreciate.
