If you are having a series of Bad Events (coming in threes), any positives?
I was happy to see a lot of people posted about the positives of having money expenses (like getting to enjoy a fancy new washer and dryer!)
For us, we are happy with our decision to keep LO at her daycare, so paying those fees wasn't so tough.
My car is at the shop, but it didn't have to be towed there (this time) and we are on the same schedule for work so we are able to carpool.

haha - yeah, that was me - didn't expect to be shelling out a ton of money for a new washer/dryer, but we upgraded and are really happy with our new energy efficient machines!
laundry is fun again! (for now.... ;))

I told DH that we have each other and our health (mostly now because of this accident!). And very soon we will own our own condo!

Bad things happen to everyone. BUT I think it takes a very special person to be able to look past the bad and see the good.
Good for you! ^_^
Sometimes I get dramatic and think a ton of bad things happen to me and for some reason they all seem to happen at the same time! So unfair!
But then I remember that in the end all the bad things that have ever happen to you has made you into the person you are today and you wouldn't be you without them and the current bad events are probably helping to shape you into a better person in the future. Well that's how I think about it.

Our caregiver gave me short notice of vacation, and I'm struggling trying to balance work and family. Chloe isn't napping or sleeping well at night (we suspect teething), and one of our two cats had a minor (but very expensive) surgery yesterday.
The positive, though, is that I'm not paying for childcare so the cats surgery was offset & we can pay the credit card bill off quicker!

We had to get a new dryer, but home depot has free delivery and will haul away the old one for free, too. So, it was expensive, but we didn't have to figure out logistics about when we're gonna get it home.

@katiew92081: I think the logistics of everything is the worst! We are doing the tile project and the actual laying of the tile isn't terrible, its the moving stuff around, clean up, etc that is tough. But we will get a new floor for a lot cheaper than it would have been for someone else to install it!

Generally, bad things bring me closer to my husband - we had a few bad illnesses and had to replace our heat/hot water heater all in February (8k!!!!!!). It sucked. But now we get to advertise our "brand new Navien high efficiency heat and hot water heater" when we put our condo on the market (IN A WEEK!)

@winniebee: Ditto on the husband thing. The way my dh takes care of things and handles crises is amazing and really attractive.

I struggle with finding the positive in bad situations.
Anyone care to take a shot at finding the positive in overpaying child support automatically out of his check by $700 for three months in a row? They keep telling us it's a computer glitch....

@T.H.O.U.: They're suppose to be cutting us another check to make up for it. So annoying! I guess the positive is we aren't blowing it on something we don't need because we don't have it? lol

We had a $1400 vet bill a month ago. We found out bad news but because of that bad news we were able to spoil our dog rotten through her last days.

We recently had to replace the A/C, but we were able to significantly put a dent in our consumer debt due to work bonuses and tax refund.

@StbHisMrs: Ooo! The positive is that you'll have a bunch of money coming in without the annoyance of having to save for it. Money burns holes in my pockets, so that would definitely be a plus for me.

My mom had an MRI on her knee and found out that she has a complex tear in her miniscus and will likely need surgery to correct it (she sees the surgeon next week!). The upside is that she is taking time off work for now and able to watch DD for us 1 day every week. We're saving on daycare and my mom is creating a really awesome bond with E
