We have our first trip away from LO coming up this week and I am getting so anxious. LO is almost two, and our moms will be taking turns staying at our house with her, so I know rationally we've done the best set up we can, but I'm just really having a hard time now that we are so close to our departure. We won't see her for 8 days.
I would love the hear any positive stories or tips about your first trip away from your LO.

I'm curious too. I have a pending trip that, if it happens, will take me away from my LOs for probably a week to 10 days, and I've never been gone for more than 2 days with the older one and have never left the younger one overnight.

Dh and I went to Florida and left DD with her grandparents when she was 7months. We missed her crazy of course but we had SO MUCH FUN. It was an awesome trip. So awesome that we are planning on leaving LO2 with the grandparents next spring (he or she will be 6months) while we take DD to Disney world.

I had business trips near my parents house on two consecutive weekends when LO was 18 months. I left LO with my parents for the five days in between. She had a blast.
A few months later DH & I went on vacation across the country for six days. We left LO with my visiting in laws. It was great!

No advice but I'm leaving tomorrow for a work trip and I'll be gone 5 days. LO is two. I'm basically completely freaked out even though I know she'll be fine with her daddy!!!

We left for our first extended trip (6 days/5 nights) away from da when he was 18 months. My mom stayed at our house and she's our primary caregiver so we didn't have any hesitations about our trip. He did great and we loved our time away. We texted a lot w my mom and sent pics back and forth but dh and I both thoroughly enjoyed having some time alone together and my parents loved the extra bonding time!
We just came back from our second trip away 4 days and Ds is 2.5 now and we facetimed a lot and missed him but we all had a good time! He was so so excited to see us when we got home, it seriously was the best welcome home ever!
