I read an article today on Vanessa Minnillo Lachey's blog about her experience with the baby blues and what triggered them, and it made me SO anxious. She described how she felt like a milk machine, because the only time she got with her baby was when she was feeding him. Otherwise, she felt like she had to pass him off to family and visitors who just passed him around while she didn't get any normal time or snuggle time with him.
I've been struggling with anxiety about this my entire pregnancy. My husband and MIL seem to think its unreasonable that I don't want visitors at the hospital or for a while when we get home, so reading her story confirmed that my fears are very real and that it DOES happen. How did you handle visitors postpartum? And how did you handle your anxiety levels about not getting enough non-feeding time with your baby if you did have tons of visitors?
