It's been about month since most of our kids received holiday presents, so I thought we might do a review on our favorite/least favorite gifts!

Favorites:
DD's very favorite gifts this year were her FisherPrice doctor's bag and her Melissa and Doug Cookie Baking set. She plays with both of them every day!

DS really loves this Leapfrog Discovery House, and so does his big sister!

I also got both kids a new Camelbak water bottle and they both love it! I was surprised how quickly DS (10 months) caught on to the bite-valve, and the bottles are durable and easy to clean.

Least Favorites:

These retractable cars came highly mrecommended, and they are very cute and durable. They're just too heavy and difficult to use for young kids, though, so they really haven't been played with much yet. I imagine we'll use these more as the kids get older/stronger (3+?).

This clock is supposed to help train your toddler to stay in bed until their scheduled wake-up time. Maybe it's just my toddler, but DD gets so excited when she wakes up and sees the light in the middle of the night, she needs to tell us right away. Kinda defeats the purpose when your toddler is calling you to her room at 11, 1, 3, 4:15, and 5:25 to show you the neat stop light on her alarm clock.

DD got a couple different types of e-reading devices, and I wish we would have tried them out before returning all of them. We ended up only keeping the Leapfrog TAG reading pen, and I don't really like it. First of all, the pen has a pretty low storage capacity, so you can only upload about 10 books at a time to the device. Secondly, the features (such as word highlighting, pronunciation guides, hotspots, definition hints, etc...) aren't as smooth or intuitive as other e-reading devices. I'm just not impressed with this particular device, and I think there are better versions of this toy out there.
