We were supposed to have a small birthday party/playdate at a park with a miniature train Saturday. She's all about Thomas and trains so that was the theme complete with train conductor outfit.

Well, it's going to be thunderstorming with record rainfall. Awesome! Our current plan is to move the party to an indoor mall with a little train so we can keep the theme.

However, DH & I are wondering if it is even a good idea to try to still do the party. They are acting like the apocalypse is coming on the local news, but we haven't lived here long enough to know how seriously to take it. If there is flooding and it's dangerous to drive, I would hate to make folks (new friends/acquaintances for the most part) feel obligated to drive their LOs in that. And I would also hate for no one to show up.

If we reschedule, it would have to be two weeks from now because next weekend is Halloween. Not the end of the world, but LO totally understood it was her birthday today and I kind of hate to wait that long. Not to mention, who knows what the weather will be like then? And if anyone could come? DH's parents are in town this weekend and I know they will be sad if her party is called off.

What would you do? Obviously we are going to see how it develops tomorrow and Saturday morning but I am still not sure what the deciding factor should be. I asked one friend who is planning to come and she said they would definitely still come and they don't mind driving in rain. But they are also transplants from the North!
