I would limit liquids before bed (maybe nothing 30 minutes before bedtime). Is he in a toddler bed? If so, you could put the little potty in his room at night so he can get up and go by himself.

@pastemoo: that's brutal! I assume he is going potty right before lights out? We leave potty time for the very last thing of our routine.

Have you tried to limit liquids after a certain time (like an hour before bed) but to make sure he drinks throughout the day but not too much all at once, especially before you restrict his liquid intake? That has helped my 5.5 y.o. to sometimes wait until morning to go. But at 5.5 he still wakes me to go in the MOTN b/c he's afraid. That's all. He just wants me to tell him "go pee" after he tells me he has to pee and then I just stand or more like lean on the wall outside of the bathroom waiting for him to go pee... I did notice one thing though... he washes his hand MUCH more thoroughly in the MOTN than during the day time!

@Mamaof2: Sometimes I feel like we have the same kid. LOL! I always tell my oldest the same thing but during the daytime when he tells me he has to go pee. Sometimes at night too... Or in the morning I'll ask him to not wake me and to go by himself. Not working. I guess I should say, "please???"
