For those those that were able able to successfully potty train their LO at a young age. Just how young were they?
LO is 20 months and I'm seriously considering potty training her soon.

We introduced the potty pretty early on, around 7-8 months. LO really took to pooping on the toilet most of the time right away.
She is in cloth and has sensitive skin, so I would usually change her after every pee. At 15 months it just made more sense to wear underwear. She will ask to go half the time and the other half the time we just have to make sure to ask her often enough. She'll have a pee accident every few days.
Still in diapers at nap and night time and if we're out for a while (she is deathly afraid of public bathrooms )

@Anutka: Wow, that's great she's been able to make progress so early!
My LO is about 15 months and I am thinking about getting a potty or potty seat and starting to teach her about it. She hates diaper changes with a passion and is super independent. Her teachers at daycare suggested that we start working on it... I don't know if that's because they're sick of her tantrums (during diaper changes) or if they think maybe she could be ready soon.
She does seem to hold it while she's in the bath... she almost always squats and goes on the floor as soon as she gets out the tub or shower if I don't put a diaper on instantly.

We started at 6 months with elimination communication. We got serious at 18 months and he is fully potty trained at a little over 2 1/2.

We just started potty training our LO at 20 months. She was ready and displaying all the signs. A month later and she is fully potty trained. She wears a diaper at night, but the last week that has been dry. I say go for it. We knew she was ready and it took 2 days for it to really click. We did the 3 day method and it worked wonders. Daycare thought we were crazy to try so early, but she really showed by not having more than 1 accident a day the first week.

@babynumber1: good to know! I think I want to give it a good push on our next 3 day weekend. She has been asking to pee at daycare a lot but at home she thinks it's just playing! LOL

We did it at 22.5 months. He was definitely ready by 19 months or so, but Baby Brother was born at 20 months so we held off. Once I was washing millions of diapers though, at the first sign of readiness we went head first. I would definitely go for it!

@Baby Boy Mom: I know! I am so afraid I am missing the perfect window right now. She is most definitely ready and has days at daycare where every diaper change is dry because she pees in the potty. But I am also afraid of training and regressing after #2 arrives in August.

We started introducing the potty a couple months ago but she hasn't peed or pooped in it yet. We'll continue to do so and might get more serious at 18 months. Right now, she likes sitting on it so we just want her to be comfortable and then go from there. She's 13.5 months.

@locavore_mama: I wouldn't worry about the regression. I mean yes it will probably happen but then the retraining should be even easier than the first time, you know what I mean? Then again, I also believe that between 18-30 months there are several windows of opportunity. I'm kind of of the mindset that the younger the better but in the end it's just as much about the parents as the kids.

@locavore_mama: Regression always happens. With potty training it is two steps forward somewhere between 1 and 4 steps backwards. We can go for weeks with no accidents and then days where he seems to forgets how to pee in the potty.

I think you should give it a shot if she seems ready. People kept telling me that we would see a regression when #2 arrived, but that never happened so you never know. Worth a shot now.
