This is the first cycle I'm using both wondfo and digital OPK. I think I like the wondfo best.

I liked the smiley on the digital, but I was totally one of those people who peed on sticks like every 4 hours (especially as time dragged on) so I preferred the Wandfos. Much cheaper!

@lovehoneybee: I feel like the digital is not as accurate. Or at least the one I have because it measures the increase in hormones. Not the actual surge. But the smiley is fun.

I've never used the digital..just the Wondfo's. I've never had a problem with them and really like being able to watch them fade in and then out again.

Both! I liked to use Wondfos to see how close I was getting to ovulating, then I'd use digitals when I thought they were definitely positive to confirm.

I like the cheapies better because I like seeing the progression. I usually take them a few days before I think I will ovulate and then a day or two after to see it fade out. I have the Clear Blue Easy digitals (not advanced) and I have been using them to confirm but the first month I never got a smiley despite getting a positive ic and my chart confirming, and the second month I didn't get a smiley until late evening the day before ff said I o'ed which gave me a very tiny window to dtd.

@LindsayInNY: What do you mean "get" them?? I just bought some for the first time, and they should be coming on Wednesday......what's there to "get"???? Now I'm nervous! lol

The cheap ones. Really I don't find them hard to interrupt at all. When you get a positive, it's super obvious.
bananas / 9899 posts
@MrsBrewer: Sometimes people have trouble telling if it's positive or not, so a near positive can look positive to someone who has never seen what a positive OPK looks like. However, when you do get that positive, it's so obvious that it's positive.

@MrsBrewer: Basically what @pui: said! I definitely know a positive when I see one! A friend TMI-shared an OPK on Twitter and I was so tempted to comment and tell her it's almost positive but not quite. I decided not to though...

@LindsayInNY: Wow posting OPKs on Twitter... that's one I haven't heard before lol!

@pui: She's battled an eating disorder for years. They got married last year and took a belated honeymoon after Thanksgiving. She posted it with something about how it's nice to confirm she's Oing. And then someone commented about how it's perfect timing since they're going on vacation. 1. It wasn't positive yet and 2. Vacation won't help if she's already Oed! Man...

How is the peeing in a cup thing? What do you do with the cup- hide it in the bathroom?
It just seems like there is less mess with the digitals...

I never want to try to interpret the cheapies. I like to look for a smiley and be done.
nectarine / 2936 posts
@LindsayInNY: Hahaha oh boy. That is a bit much.
I use both. Wondfos most days and digis to confirm O. I can tell a positive on a wondfo, but I love that smiley on the digi. Also I recently had problems with 2 digis malfunctioning. Thank goodness I was also using wondfos or I would've been in a panic.

@Crystal: I was worried about that too. I bought a whole lot of mini disposable plastic cups and I use those. I think they are for salad dressing, but they are larger than the typical salad dressing size.

I can't vote. I love digital or regular HPTs but after 6 months of negatives and the emotional distress of seeing 'not pregnant' on a digital test. (It completely devastated me.) I now use wondfro cheapies and only when AF is late or I get a positive is when I'll use the real ones.
ETA: oh, duh! Just reread the question and see that you are talking about OPKs. And not HPT. I've been using wondfros because of the cost. If I could find a digital test for cheap, I could consider switching.
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@Crystal: I just pee on the wondfros now. I just angle it so it gets wet enough to test without going past the max line.
I had to nix the cup because I had to use OPKs at work.
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@mrs. 64: I got some of those small cups but I gave up.
pomelo / 5000 posts
Cheap ones! So much more cost effective. I like seeing how they progress, and I've never had a faulty batch. I have, however, gotten the error message on the digital. Sometimes Wondfos can be stressful if you aren't sure, but I remind myself, "When it's positive, you know."

@bluestriped bee: does that method work well?
Our toilet is in its own little room with its own door but no storage. I just can't imagine having to explain a pee cup to DH.
@mrs. 64: do you just dump it in the toilet and throw it away? Or rinse it out?
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@Crystal: worked ok for me. If you hold it so the pee contacts the thin (middle) portion of the wondfro then it should work. Although, at least once or twice, I didn't get it right and so there wasn't enough wetness to get the pee to the whole test.
pomelo / 5228 posts
I prefer the cheapies, since my surge comes in over a few days. I was able to tell a day or two before the actual positive OPK.
pomelo / 5228 posts
@bluestriped bee: Wow, you've got some skills! I took a pee cup from a doctor's office a long time ago
nectarine / 2936 posts
@bluestriped bee: That is skills! I am not that talented
@Crystal: I use/rinse them a few times before tossing them. I do hide mine from DH. He knows I use opks but I don't want to explain the pee cup!

@Crystal @mrs. 64: You guys know you're going to have a lot grosser things to explain to your husbands by the time the pregnancy's over....right? Hehe I use the cheap ones, and I keep an old shot glass under the bathroom sink to dip them into. I wash it out with soap after every time. How long do you guys dip them into the cup for? I do 3 seconds like the instructions say but that feels like such a short time.

I really shouldn't use OPK's, I have PCOS, but with that I prefer the digitals because my wondfos always look thisclose.
grapefruit / 4028 posts
@PawPrints: I won't mind sharing the pregnancy related things, but I don't know if our sex life will survive the "behind the scenes" action, lol.
grapefruit / 4028 posts
@Mrs.Someone: that's smart!
Do you all use these, and track other things! Or just use OPKs?
grapefruit / 4770 posts
I don't want to be worried with is it "almost positive" or positive and continue the need for excessive BD'ing. No time for deciphering lines! I'm sure I'm in the minority, but that's just my two cents!
pomelo / 5228 posts
@Crystal: I also track CM and CP, I find that with those and OPKs, I can always pinpoint O.
grapefruit / 4028 posts
@Mrs.Someone: thanks!
I suppose wondfos are cheap enough that I should at least try it.
nectarine / 2806 posts
I definitely prefer the digital. I can never decipher Wondfo!
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@dc yoga bee: good point. I hate decipferiing those lines. When I had trouble with getting positive OPKs, I asked my Dr if I should get a digital one. She said that if you are having trouble getting a positive a digital won't help much. I think I just suck at remembering to POAS. Now that I'm back from my break, I should look into getting a digital one. I need to check out craigslist again.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@dc yoga bee: Yep! One month of trying to figure out if the line was darker or not, was enough for me.
