October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. October 15th is a day of remembrance. I will be attending a memorial service at my hospital that evening to remember our baby boy that we said goodbye to in June 2016. Will you be doing anything this year to remember a pregnancy or infant loss?

My nephew was Aiden Thomas, born sleeping February 28th, 2009, a spitting image of his handsome big brother Austin
Because of you Aiden, there are now two incredible NICU nurses that work so hard to save little babies everyday and our sweet Emily Mei joined our family all the way from China! You changed our lives completely

The loss group I am an administrator in is holding a candle lighting and reading of names on Sunday evening. It is an annual event for us. I also helped coordinate a cuddle cot fundraiser that happened this past Saturday and they raised enough to purchase two cots, one for each local hospital.
I have two losses, Baby Mae & Baby L. My due date with Baby L is actually today.

I participate in the wave of light at home. Last year, a sweet friend brought us flowers.
I light three candles, Virginia Jane (born sleeping at 24 weeks sept. 27, 2015), Frances Ruth (lost to trisomy 18 at 13 weeks Aug. 10, 2016) and an early loss in 2014

I've had two earlyish losses. I was due in February 2016 and March 2018. I've got one rainbow in between there, hoping for another.

We had our fifth loss this year, at 11 weeks. I asked not to know gender when they did genetic testing but he or she would have been due October 18th. Hoping there might be one more rainbow in our future!

Thank you for posting the reminder. Another mom from my prior month board just lost a twin today after a procedure to try to help with TTTS.

We lost our son “Q” when he was almost six weeks old (he would be 3.5 now). I am part of a support group, and we have an annual “Walk to Remember” which will happen this Saturday. During the event we read off each baby’s name, and have a balloon release. It’s amazing.

I just had a loss a few weeks ago at 6.5 weeks. We did not know the sex of the baby. It's still very new, but I'm definitely feeling extra emotional thinking about all the lost babies this month. Lots of love to all of you and your angels.

This thread is making me cry... all you mamas are so incredible. I had an early m/c in July 2011 and a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks in feb 2013. I think about them all the time and I'm very grateful for my rainbow baby.

I had an early loss in 2014 and my son Henry was stillborn in November 2014. I'm going to a candlelight memorial in my town this Sunday with a friend who also had a stillborn baby.

I always think about my little Ava that was born sleeping on December 19/2014. Our city has a butterfly release in June for infant and child loss that I always attend. It's been almost three years and I still grieve what could have been.
I will also spend time on the 15th reflecting on my other losses (7 & 10 weeks). My two rainbows followed those losses.
