Pregnancy Updates!

  1. babynumber1

    persimmon / 1396 posts

    Due date: May 31

    How many weeks: 33 wks

    Weight gain: 23ish lbs

How are you feeling: Pretty ready for this show to get on the road- this past week has been pretty rough. I have super swollen feet and can only wear flip flops now (thank God for an early spring), Restless leg has started its attack, and back pain has started every evening. The heating pad in my new BFF.

Recent milestones: Finishing the nursery- it is so pretty that I just find excuses to go in there!

Wisdom/advice: You never know what is going to happen in pregnancy- I had the easiest pregnancy until 25 weeks when I seemed to get every symptom in the book! Its hard to complain when we tried so long to get to this point. I'm working on enjoying pregnancy more and complaining to my husband less.

This is an interesting post since I only really know who's due in Sept and a little bit of Oct!

    Due date: September 18

How many weeks: 17 weeks, 1 day

    Weight gain: 2-3 lbs.

How are you feeling: Pretty good! No complaints here! I think I am at the most comfortable point in pregnancy since I don't yet have a bump but I'm (thankfully!) out of the first trimester. I've been pretty hungry too, but I am craving completely unhealthy foods so I'm trying to really start watching.

Recent milestones: 14 weeks- start of the 2nd tri! In about a week we will have another ultrasound and we can find out the gender. Also I have been feeling something- not sure yet if it's baby since it seems too early, but even if it's stretching I'll take that over the first trimester cramping which always had me nervous!

Wisdom/advice: Nothing yet, but I love reading through everyone else's advice!

  4. BananaPancakes

    grapefruit / 4817 posts

    Due date:
April 26, but currently scheduled for a C-section April 17

    How many weeks:
    38 weeks

    Weight gain: 40 lbs!!!
I was actually staying under the "average" weight gain track (didn't gain anything until about 22 weeks), until about 34 weeks, when I started swelling. And the weight gain has been pretty heavy since. Praying that I'll just pee it all out in the first week after delivery. Swelling had been the worst part of pregnancy so far!

    How are you feeling:
Done. Over it. Swelling hurts terribly and my baby is breech and really high up. He is always right under my rib cage and it's not uncommon for me to have issues breathing from him pushing so hard with his head and shoulders into my lungs. It's like he's literally standing up in there! Heartburn is constant and my hips always ache. There is no such thing as a comfortable position anymore. This past couple of weeks has been really trying on me emotionally. I also now constantly itch all over.

Recent milestones: Just getting close to the end!

    Wisdom/advice:
I never in a million years thought I'd be scheduling a c-section. I've had my sights set on a normal, natural labor and birth this entire pregnancy, and things were looking great until he decided to flip around 35 weeks. I'd researched and prepared for labor and my husband was ready and now, plans have changed so quickly. I think I cried 3 days in a row last week when we had our u/s to determine if he really had flipped. So, I guess all I can say is that things may not go as planned, but try and make the best of it. I've been telling myself that he may very well be breech for a reason and to trust the baby and my doctor because it was hard to let my idea of how things should happen go. I just have to think about it all as positively as I can.

    GOLD / pomelo / 5167 posts

    Due date: May 13

How many weeks: 35 wks, 4 days

    Weight gain: 8 lbs

    How are you feeling:
Generally my pregnancy is going very well. I started the insomnia and having a 21 month old toddler doesn't help in the 'being rested' department. I think my body is prepping for the sleepless nights. ha!

    Recent milestones:
Other than the nursery slowly getting there (painted floors, installed lighting) milestones pregnancy wise other than still being under 10 lbs of weight gained, nothing really to report.

    Wisdom/advice:
    Rest, when you can! ha.

    GOLD / squash / 13576 posts

Due Date: July 12th (but he's a big boy (weighing 2 pounds at 25 weeks) already and I think he'll come early)

How many weeks: 27 weeks tomorrow

    Weight gain: 15 pounds

    How are you feeling:
I'm feeling really good. This pregnancy has been pretty easy, so nothing to complain about.

    Recent Milestone:
Not having to keep going in for ultrasounds to check on the growth of our baby boy. Early in the pregnancy, I tested at high risk for down syndrome, I had to have CVS. Everything came back fine but I have had to have a few more ultrasounds because of my wacky blood work early on.

    Wisdom/Advice:
Don't be afraid to ask for help. I'm very independent so it was a huge change when I started not being able to do things for myself.

  8. deannab1

    grape / 89 posts

    Due Date: Tomorrow! (April 12th)

How many weeks? 39 weeks and 6 days

Weight Gain: 29 lbs (but I think it's probably more - I ran a marathon right before I got pregnant and I'm sure I've lost a ton of muscle, which weighs more than fat.)

How are you feeling? Really good. I haven't slept as well the last couple of nights, but other than that it's been pretty easy.

Recent Milestone: Hmmm...not sure which ones are appropriate to share. There are some pretty grody things that happen in the last week or two. I guess the fact that I'm still teaching full time and loving it is a pretty big milestone. It keeps me busy and takes my mind off of the baby.

Wisdom/Advice: Tell people your due date is a week or two later than it actually is. My phone is ringing CONSTANTLY with people wondering how I'm feeling, when I think the baby is coming, and wanting all the details. I appreciate all the love, but I'm really sick of answering the same questions over and over again. I keep telling everyone that I'll text them if anything changes, but my phone still rings all day long.

@deannab1: Yes for this reason I avoided telling people my due date. when they ask I just tell them its in 2 weeks, even though its this sunday because they will not stop asking me about it, and I'm already anxious for the baby to arrive1

  10. marley

    kiwi / 706 posts

    Due Date: August 15

How many weeks? 22 weeks and 1 day

Weight Gain: 13 lbs the last OB visit, maybe a little more now, like 15. The range of weight gain listed here is amazing!

How are you feeling? I'm having trouble staying asleep these days, in addition to getting up to go to the bathroom. My ankles and feet are a little swollen. Feeling a bit fat and I literally stare at my closet for 10 minutes every morning looking for clothes that fit.

Recent Milestone: Had the anatomy scan and found that we're having a girl! Getting used to the idea of having a girl and loving it!

Wisdom/Advice: do everything you love/want to do now! I don't believe parents should lose their lives after having kids but I'm sure it won't be easy to find time. Go pamper yourself! I just had an amazing salon visit.

How many weeks: 28 weeks + 6 days

    Weight gain: 30lbs

How are you feeling: Good but really tired. I pretty much wake up every hour to go to the bathroom so sleep has been horrible

Recent milestone: Passed my 1 hr glucose test! Yay!

Wisdom/advice: Whatever you expect it to be it is not going to be. Don’t compare your pregnancy with others as each one is different.

    I love this thread!

    Due date: September 25

How many weeks: 16w4d, based on baby's measurements

    Weight gain: none

How are you feeling: still nauseous 24/7. only not when I'm in the process of eating - so, even when I'm overfull, I'm still nauseous unless I'm swallowing food (ha, ha..).

also severe lower back pain, and cervix pains once in awhile at night.

face is starting to clear up though, YAY!

Wisdom/advice: stand up to people who think they know everything. I've heard people comment on my size - I've said "well that's rude!", also have said that to people who critique our name choice(s). if people can be rude enough to talk and touch, we can be 'rude' enough to call them out on it

    ****

    Due date: June 21st

How many weeks: 30 weeks today!

    Weight gain: 18 lbs

How are you feeling: Really good! Enjoying the bump and not yet feeling the discomfort of late pregnancy, although reflux has set in a bit recently, so Tums has become my staple post-dinner 'mint'!

Recent milestone: Making it to the 30s! That sounded so far away before but now it's like the end is in sight....

Wisdom/advice: Be confident in the decisions you make throughout your pregnancy! People can be incredibly judgmental of pregnant women but only you and your doctor know what is best for your situation. Also, drink lots of water.... it really does make a lot of things better!

    37 weeks + 4 days today.
Surprisingly no weight gain at check up this am.
Officially 2 cm dilated, 70% effaced and baby has dropped.

@regberadaisy: It did come really quickly! My husband is so flipping excited, though I feel left out on the waiting fun since I'm like the only scheduled c-section on here or WB right now. You're progressing so well, I bet you won't be too far behind!

haha since Monday every time my husband drops me off he goes "call me if you go into labor!" hahaha.
I bet the waiting fun won't be so fun in another week or two. You'll be glad you have a "date"!

    @winniebee:
Thanks! I just have a gut feeling I can go early so I wasn't too shocked that I dilated a full centimeter from my last visit. But we'll see how I am next Wednesday. I could stay at 2cm for ever!

  18. Rainbow Sprinkles

    eggplant / 11287 posts

@deannab1: I think that's how my weight gain has stayed so low too. I was extremely muscular before getting pregnant and due to complications, I haven't worked out once in almost 9 months. Although I have technically gained only 22 lbs, I think I have gained a lot more fat and just lost a TON of muscle.

    @Mrsdaredevil:
I kinda hope so! I secretly hope she'll come in the 39th week.

Yesterday I was feeling a lot more pressure on my pelvic. And some slight stomach cramping I wonder if it's the beginning of early contractions?

My SIL might be induced on Wednesday so I want my LO to wait until my nephew is born! hahah because it's my older brother's baby.

    Due date: May 27

How many weeks: 34 wks, 4 days

Weight gain: I'm going to say 22 pounds. At my appt a little over a week ago I was up 20 pounds, but haven't weighed myself since.

How are you feeling: Good, but I'm on bedrest so just lay around all day : ) I feel pretty huge lately though.

Recent milestones: Getting to this point was big for us as my sister gave birth to her first at 34 wks 4 days and had a great result! Also, only a little over a week of bedrest for me to go!

Wisdom/advice: Trying to enjoy the last bit of alone time with your husband/partner. Also remember to ask your hubs how he is feeling.

    Due date: T-11 days!!! 4/30

How many weeks: 38 wks, 4 days

    Weight gain: 41.6lbs babyyyyyyyy

How are you feeling: Excited to meet the baby! Sleep is hard to come by. This intense below rib cage pain keeps me up almost all night. Peeing 6 times a night doesn't help either.

Recent milestones: Not much really...almost being 3cm dilated? Which means chances are low that I'll get turned away when I go into the hospital?
My mom's airfare has been purchased to come up next Saturday. Makes it feel SO real now! Like wow baby will be here SOON!

Wisdom/advice: Just because you're not sleeping doesn't mean your husband shouldn't be! Someone should be getting some sleep before bb arrives!

Recent milestones: Being so close to the end and having no clue when I will go into labor! It could happen today. It could happen 2 weeks from now! Crazy feeling.

    How many weeks: 36+2

Weight gain: 26 pounds....6 of which were in the last 3 weeks.

How are you feeling: Pretty good, though I'm still on bedrest, until this weekend! Whenever I get up I feel LOTS of pressure low. I'm 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced already and baby's head is at the 0 position - meaning he is ready to rock and roll.

Recent milestones: Getting to 36 weeks was huge for us because that was our pie in the sky goal when I went into preterm labor at 30 weeks. Light at the end of the tunnel is near!

Wisdom/advice: Stay positive and try to enjoy the last few weeks of pregnancy!

Due date: May 12... although I'm starting to believe my Dr's date of May 8 might not be too far off.

    How many weeks: 38 + 3

    Weight gain: 33lbs

How are you feeling: Good! Lots of energy the last couple days and getting lots done around the house. Had my membranes swept today... that was a little weird. Had a lot of bleeding so I'm hoping that combined with how effaced I am might mean good things!

Recent milestones: 1 cm and 70% effaced, baby's head is engaged, although apparently not in the most ideal position.

Wisdom/advice: If you're feeling tired, let yourself nap/rest. I'm having a hard time caving in and doing this but am thinking I need to snap out of it and just do it... baby could be here soon and something tells me I'll need all the energy I can get!

    Due date: September 6

    How many weeks: 22 weeks

Weight gain: 20 lbs (holding steady for a couple of weeks - *phew*)

How are you feeling: Migraines have started to subside (after 5 weeks!) and I am starting to get a bump - yay!

Recent milestones: Pre-term contractions (bright red spotting, low back pain, etc.). >.< Was in L&D yesterday getting checked out. The contractions stopped on their own, and everything else (placenta, cervix, etc.) are fine. On the positive side, I started to feel butterbean's kicks at 19.5 weeks. Right now, she is totally having a dance partay in mah belleh!

Wisdom/advice: I have to echo other poster's advice to listen to your body(!), and that just because you are feeling good or better does not mean to push ahead at full speed.

How are you feeling: Pretty good...it's really humid out today, so everything is pretty swollen...not really looking forward to being in the third trimester over the summer.

Recent milestones: Well, by the end of this week I'll be under 100 days. Also, at my last appointment they pulled out the measuring tape for the first time. And DH can now clearly see my stomach moving with the kicks.

Wisdom/advice: No real advice. It's going by really really fast now, and I'm just trying not to stress out and enjoy it.

@FutureMrsMck: My weight gain according to my Doc (my first appointment was at 8 weeks) is 15 pounds . . . but my scale at home (of course I weighed myself immediately after my BFP) definitely shows a 20 lb gain.

    Due date: September 9th (p.s it's a girl!)

    How many weeks: 21

    Weight gain: 9 pounds

How are you feeling?: Pretty good overall. I get occasional headaches that will sideline me for 3+ hours & sometimes just an overall "blah" feeling, but I am very grateful to have had an easy time so far.

Recent milestones: My husband felt the baby kick for the first time over the weekend. I feel like I have "popped" over the last couple of weeks, but can still wear a couple of pairs of regular jeans (skinny jeans that have lots of stretch & a bigger pair).

Wisdom/advice: Just take it one day at a time. Each day can be different, so I just try to roll with it...

    Due date: October 16

    How many weeks: 16w0d

    Weight gain: 1.1 lbs

How are you feeling: Really well aside from the occasional vomit-fest and RLP/odd uterine sensations.

Recent milestones: Having (theoretically) completed 40% of my pregnancy and making it to month four!

Wisdom/advice: Educate yourself about all the things that can go wrong in a pregnancy even if you don't want to think about it. If and when you have to deal with these complications (like my SCH's and placenta previa) you'll be ready to handle them as they come. And it will also help you keep an eye open to spot complications, like incompetent cervix, early. You are the number one person affected by your healthcare team- be an active participant!

  38. MsLipGloss

    GOLD / pineapple / 12662 posts

@WinnieBee: Yes, thank you! Everything is fine. Doc thought it was a combination of too little rest, maybe not enough water, and stress. So far, I am not restricted from any activities, although DH said *he* is putting me on pelvic rest, lol! (The Doc mentioned that sex can cause spotting, and now that he knows that, he doesn't want to be the cause of any spotting or concern for butterbean's sticky-ness!). I am just supposed to take it easy(ier), up my fluids (I am floating), watch for spotting, etc.

Wednesday through Friday of last week was pretty intense work-wise. I didn't feel overly tired or stressed until Friday morning, when I started having contractions (4 contractions about 30ish minutes apart) and a little spotting, low back pain, and the need to *void* (tmi). Around 1:30, the contractions stopped, and everything seemed to go back to normal. I had a few cramps over the weekend, but no more spotting. Yesterday, I had bright red spotting and some mild cramping (although not quite like Friday), so my OB wanted me to go to L&D and get checked out.

I had been taking it easy for the past 5 weeks largely due to contant migraines. So when I started to feel better, I think I sort of forgot that I can't really do everything that I could pre-pregnancy, and just went about it business as usual. I was also worried that my hours were a little low, which seems really petty now that I actually type it out (my office is very family-friendly - and nobody would have batted an eyelash at an off month, especially knowing I am pregnant). But nonetheless, there was a ton to do, and I had been feeling like I was falling behind (or drowning, more accurately), so I put in a few big days at work. *augh*
