We've decided to move ahead with the d&c next week. We are both anxious to start trying again and we are praying we get pregnant just as easily again.
Anyone out there get pregnant after a mc or d&c? How long did it take? Did you carry to full term without issues?

We got pregnant the next cycle. The doctors were not happy about that (but we were). I've made it to 38 weeks so far...

I had a natural mc (no d and c required) and was told to wait a full cycle to start trying again. We did and got pregnant on our third cycle trying again. I'm 37 weeks preg now.

I had a natural miscarriage then took a month off from trying on doctors orders and then got pregnant on the first try after that. I'm only 11 weeks so not out of the clear yet but so far so good.

My body started a natural miscarriage and we used pills to help it along, waited one cycle, and started trying again. It took 7 cycles to get pregnant this time, but the symptoms are much stronger than they were last summer, so this is hopeful for us!

I actually had to have 2 d&cs. Meds didn't work, then I had sticky placenta so even with the d&c I still had pregnancy tissue in my belly. The next time I had an ultrasound during it so they knew for sure it was all out. Its rare that they have to do it twice... but id talk to your doctor about it just in case because it was a very sucky experience.
My ob said that we could ttc after I got my period again, and I got pregnant on the first try. Lo is now 9 months and super healthy.

We had a mc 8 weeks ago at 8.5 weeks and after talking to my doctor, we've decided to not wait for my period to start.
So we are obviously not pregnant yet, but just wanted to lend my support and wish you luck

Yes, twice. And I had two healthy baby boys (3 y.o. and 5.5 weeks). Both times it took quite a few months only b/c I had dental work that needed to be done first so we didn't try right away. But when we did start it took maybe like 2 cycles to get pregnant but I'm super regular so I think that helped. Oh, and my OB said that we were able to start trying after my next period just to give you an idea of how soon you can try again. Good luck!

We had 2 cycles before getting pregnant again. We would have been fine getting pregnant right away, but my doctor just advised to wait a bit. We weren't really careful in between the D&C and getting pregnant though. I've yet to have any issues and I'm 40+5 today. I know plenty of people that get pregnant right away with no issues!

All of your stories are making me feel so much better. I have to call today and schedule my d&c and I'm anxious to move the process along. I read in a baby book that you are most fertile the first 3 cycles after a mc. How crazy!

I had a natural miscarriage. It took us 11 cycles to get pregnant - I'm now 27 weeks along. It was frustrating but worth the wait!
(Note that I'm almost 37 years old so age may have played a factor in my difficulty in getting pregnant quickly after my m/c).

I had 2 miscarriages while TTC for this first baby. After each we waited at least one cycle before we started trying again. Both times we were able to get pregnant on the first cycle after we started trying again.

D&C is scheduled for tomorrow at 12:15. I am excited to put this behind me yet so nervous.

Thank you for all of your kind words and thoughts. I woke up at 7:00am this morning with severe cramping and bleeding. It continued until I went in for the d&c. Procedure was quick and so far all of the cramping has gone away and I'm spotting. For me personally I feel so much better knowing that it is over with and we can move on. Doctor said to wait one cycle and then we can start trying again. What to Expect stated in their book that most women are more fertile after a mc or d&c. We didnt have issues the first time but it is still a nice thought. Fingers crossed!

@alison206: Sorry for your loss and I'm glad everything went smooth with your D&C.
I had a D&C and my doc told me to wait two cycles. I accidentally got pregnant after my D&C without having a period first and that ended in MC. I think it's definitely best to let your body have one cycle to build up your lining. Best of luck to you!

@alison206: I miscarried at 20 weeks, had to deliver, and go back next week for my check-up appointment. It will be 7 weeks since the miscarriage. My doctor told me that I needed to wait 3 months. I did start my new cycle 1 month after my miscarriage, so my body is already healing. Now we are just in a waiting game until we can start trying again. Hugs to you. I'm so sorry that you have to go through this.
