My 3 year old went to preschool last year, and she went 9 hours per week Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. This year she will be going 12 hours per week M-TH...which I think is a good amount, I like that she gets to go an extra day because I feel like it helps out the daily routine a little better.
How many hours per week is your LO's preschool? Do you think it's the right amount of hours?

Last year, he was in two days, 830-330, so 14 hours total. This year, he's doing junior K and will be going 35 hours a week (M-F, 830-330)

Last year, it was around 10 hours a week.
This year, it's 20, but he only attends for 16.
It's fine, I mean, we don't need full time care, but if we did, there would be no way we could afford this place.

Full-time (continuation of daycare). On average, probably between 42 and 45 hours per week. It's fine, she's used to it.

Last year was 6 hrs in the 2's program. This year will be 9 hrs with the option of 2-4 hrs extra per week for a "lunch bunch" program.

DD1 is 4 and will be starting school-day preschool (830-330, 5 days/week) this fall. But K here is full-day, so it's something of a build up to that....knowing that this preschool is very child-directed and not structured, has a built in rest-time in the afternoon if they want/need it, etc.
Plus, she did 40+ hr/week in daycare from 12w-2y, then 24hr/week preschool at 2, and then 10hr/week preschool last year at 3. So she was steadily decreasing as she aged instead of increasing like most kids! ha. She loves school and constantly asks me when she can go everyday, if she can go Saturdays, etc.

8ish hours total - Tuesday/Thursday 7:45am-12pm. The school day is 8-12 but you can drop off 7-8 and DH does drop off.

We did PT 3 days a week when she was 3.5. Will do the same for DS. (Around 10-12hrs/week)

Prior to me going back to work my big girl was in public preschool / kindergarten for five mornings a week, 0815-1215, and before that she did three afternoons a week 1315-1515). Public kindergarten starts at around age 2y8m in New Zealand and kids generally move to morning kindy (five days a week) at around 3.5 or 4 years old.
Now that I'm back at work, both my small people (3y10m and 16m) go to preschool / daycare for 25 hours per week (M, T, T).

We are full time since age 3. M-F, about 9-4. He naps every day for about 2 hours and is happy as a clam when I pick him up. Sometimes I avoid picking him up early because I know he's playing with kids...

@catlady: same for DS. He is in the pre-school room at daycare and loves it.
Since he started daycare at one it has been roughly 45 hour weeks.

LO is starting preschool next month (he'll be 3 in Nov). He's going Tues, Wed, and Thurs from 8:30-12, so 10.5 hours/week.

LO1 was 4 last year, and he attended 25 hours/week. I think it was perfect for us. LO2 will be 3 this year, and he is going for 3 mornings a week for a total of 9 hours. It'll be a good introduction to preschool for him.

He'll be going 4 hours a week this fall. 9-11 Mondays and Wednesdays. In December we have the option to extend him to 4 hours/day. I'm still not sure how that could work with his nap, but I guess his sleep needs could change a lot between now and then.

DS (almost 2) will be going for 12 hours/week starting this fall - 8:30-12:30, 3 days a week.

DS goes for 12 hours a week at age 2 (two 6 hour days). They do the system of you go as many days as you are old - i.e. once he turns 3 he will go 3 days a week, translating for 18 hours.
