Are you supposed to provide seating for babies at birthday parties? I'm having J's 1st bday party and we are serving lunch. It's just sandwiches and salads. No formal sitting just kind of grab and eat and chat! But we wil have about 6 under 2 there in addition to adults.
There will only be 1 high chair there for my child. Is this going to be a problem??

I wouldn't expect baby seating at a house party. We would just keep LO in our lap, take turns with the high chair or put him/her on the floor if appropriate.

Can you borrow an e tra couple of highchairs? It's not something I'd expect, as such, but it is really handy to have more than one!

I wouldn't expect it. If you have a little table and chairs (or rent one) that would be cute. Otherwise, I'd just have my kid on my lap or sit on the floor with a blanket...

Nope, wouldn't expect it. When they were really young I've had people bring boosters.

I always pull out extra boosters/high chairs when (if) we have them, but don't think you need to go to any extremes to provide one for everyone. I would just be sure that if you DON'T want people to feed their kids on your sofa/rug/wherever, you set up some sort of obvious kid-friendly eating area, like a small table or picnic blanket.

I wouldn't expect it, but it would be really cool if you did. My friend grabbed an extra high chair for her son's birthday party so that my son could use it, which I thought was really sweet. But we've often just fed him in our laps, so it's not really a big deal if you don't have them.

I'm having the party at my sister in laws, and I am bring my own high chair. My parents have an extra one that I will tell them to bring over. But there will be 2 - 6 month olds, another 1 year old, a 1.5 year old, and an almost 2 yr. if I talk to the parents I may casually mention on the phone that if they have a travel booster to bring it along if they'd like to!

I wouldn't expect it. The first year or so everyone either took turns using DD's highchair or just fed their kids on their knee.

I wouldn't expect it, but I typically have a clip on chair and some small kid seats at the table for the littles.

Nope when DD was 12 months we went to a few parties and if I fed her it was on my lap or she sat in her stroller!
I would be blown away if I saw high chairs for all

I wouldn't expect it. And I wouldn't feel obligated to provide them as a host.
