I suck, DD2 has been miserable most of the day because I've been way under dosing her ibuprofen. I was giving her 1.875 mL when she should be at 5mL for her weight.
When's the last time you adjusted LO's med dosage?

Every time I dose them (2 and 3) I have to do math because I have so much infant advil. Also it's more concentrated so it's less I have to get them to ingest.

I usually ask at every ped visit and then double check online every time. I don't trust myself to remember anything these days (though I always fear overdosing more than under).

@NavyRN2012: ditto. I always tell my husband you are giving yourself like a baby dose when he insists on taking one Advil.

The switch from infant to children's Tylenol is what got me! It went from being like 1.5mL of infants Tylenol when K was 18months, to being like 5mL of kids Tylenol at 2.5! I know the suspensions are different, but I have to check ALL the time!

Oh fudge now I'm afraid I overdosed her. I just gave her 5 mL of infant Advil because the nurse on the phone told me its 5 mL for acetaminophen and ibuprofen. But she's not 2 yet so she's not old enough for children's medicine yet? F*ck. I'm putting her to bed now....

@regberadaisy: one of the times we took E to the ER with a high fever they told us we'd been under dosing him. They said with his weight he should've been getting 7.5mL!

@lovehoneybee: yeah, I called her pediatrician and texted a pediatrician friend. They both double checked the dosage and we're fine at 5 mL. Thank you!
Maybe this is why so many people need to alternate with acetaminophen?!
